. . . Kentucky Post, Covington KY by Rick Bird OTR UPDATE Cincinnati-based Over the Rhine is showing some frustrations with its record label. "It's time for this label to prove it's got what it takes," said Linford Detweiler, bassist for the band. Choosing his words carefully, Detweiler barely masked his frustrations with IRS, a company that has recently gone through several corporate convulsions. Detweiler says he's not sure where the band fits into the record company's current promotional scheme. OtR plans to record a new album this fall, perhaps at a New Orleans studio. Meanwhile, IRS plans to re-release the band's four year old first album, Till We Have Faces. Detweiler says the album, originally sold only in Cincinnati, will have new liner notes and include some recent live OtR tracks. |
