Over the Rhine's third disc already has yielded one potential hit, Happy With Myself, which has gotten a lot of airplay, especially on WTTS-FM (92.3). Ironically, it's the least interesting song on the Cincinnati group's 12-track disc.

The other tracks reflect the group's eclectic blend of folk, rock and jazz with the rich and multi-layered sounds of Karin Bergquist's vocals. My Love Is A Fever, however, is a bit of a departure from the group's usual sound. This one is a bluesy number that emphasizes Ric Hordinski's guitar over Bergquist's voice.

Sleep Baby Jane has a haunting melody to match its eerie words--"turpentine turpentine/potion for my valentine/take a ride and take it/in a long black hearse." June, too, lingers in the mind.

There's also a hidden, 12th track that comes after a two-minute silence. I don't know what the title is, but we should call it Delayed Gratification.
