. . . Gavin Report, San Francisco CA OVER THE RHINE Following up their debut album Patience, Over the Rhine has released Eve just in time to open Saturday's Fox Theater new faces line-up. Based in Cincinnati, Over the Rhine recorded Eve in New Orleans at Daniel Lanois' facility after grinding out 180 live dates. Vocalist Karin Bergquist breaks away from AAA Radio's female vocal pack by fronting a band with a unique style more reminiscent of The Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde. Rounding out the lineup is guitarist Ric Hordinski, who has a tendency to mix psychedelic textures with blues. Bassist/songwriter Linford Detweiler and drummer Brian Kelley provide the band with a rhythm section capable of both an airy and deeply rooted sound. Over the Rhine will appear 9pm Saturday at the Fox Theater. |
