I received this email today out of the blue. THIS is why I'm still doing what I do:

Hello Cheryl. How are you doing? I am doing great. It has been almost 17 years since I left VU. Do you remember when I played as Elvis in the Dad's Weekend Variety Show? Do you also remember the time when I was in Hall Council as a Social Chairman? Those days were so much fun! I still remember the time when a lot of my friends and a couple VU staaff members held a surprise going away party for me before I left VU. I still remember the winter gloves you gave me, and I had those gloves for a long time before they finally wore out. To this day, I still cherish a lot of the fond memories as a student at VU, and I hope one day to visit the campus, again.

Currently, my family has been growing with the addition of a great niece who is growing like a weed. I am married, and have been since December 15th of 2007. My wife Clarinda and I met through an online chat room before we met face to face. We dated three years before tying the knot, and it has been wonderful so far. We are hoping to take a honeymoon vacation to Memphis, Tennessee to see Graceland and visit other sites like the Sun Records music studio where Elvis recorded his music.Would you believe this? I celebrated 20 years since graduating from high school at a class reunion, and it was a blast. As far as music goes, I am still playing, but this time I am playing the keyboard. I play at church the first Sunday of every month for both services.

I hope things are going well for you, and I wish you the best as the new semester begins at VU. Take care, and may God bless you in all you do at VU.

Sincerely
Michael A. Skinner

That sounds really rewarding to me, Cher. In the context with which I'm familiar, this reads that your "customers" feel compelled to reach out and stay in touch long after your job is done. That's quite an impressive feat, in any context. smile.gif
