I thought I'd start a new thread, one that I hope gets some love from the Apple crew: science, technology, advancements, gee-whiz, gadgets, medicines, inventions... all the things that reveal great thinkers, resourceful finds, and a general dedication to the advancement of the species.

I'll kick it off.... doesn't this blow your mind? Scientists Closer to Making Invisibility Cloak.

Great idea. Here's my favorite science story this year: 65-year-old Finnish man pregnant with own jaw. Not really pregnant, but he grew it in his own abdomen for something like nine months. Weird, and totally cool!

Cool idea for a thread! They talked about the invisibility cloak this morning on WCBS, the commentator said he plans to use it to avoid household chores. laugh.gif

For those interested, stories and videos about new developments in science can be found at http://sciencentral.com . My son Chris works on many of them as an associate producer.

That's amazing to me... I wonder what else that idea would apply to, long term? Limbs, eyes, etc. leap to mind... how cool would that be? "Whoops, I pulled off Anna's foot. No worries, she'll grow another one." laugh.gif

Sometimes technology isn't advanced enough! Look what happened to this poor air traveler:

That BLT is the bomb!

Two words: Super. Collider.

Wouldn't it be funny if they really did end up with strange matter and it really did turn our entire planet into a solid mass of grey goo? HAHAHAHA.

Seriously, I've been reading up on the hadran collider and I'm pretty excited about it.

Interesting Hawking bets CERN mega-machine won't find 'God's Particle'

Been keeping up on this a bit and am pretty keen on the whole thing. Looking forward to reading more about the results as they become known. And, given that me and "Steve" go back some, I'm agreeing with him in that I hope we don't find the expected. Would be much more interesting that way!
