I am going, and went, and now back. A great show at my favorite venue!

Three things:

1. I am surprised they were a free show - they could easily fill that place!

2. I am surprised they only played 7 to 9...is that a restriction of being the free act?

3. I moved this down the page for extra emphasis: if their version of "My City Was Gone" does not show up on Live From Nowhere Vol. 4, I will burn this website down! I MEAN IT!

Seriously, that was an amazing cover of that song - Karin sounded fabulous singing it and the guitar solos were white hot.

Thanks for a great night!

And thanks Bill for chatting with me on MySpace the other day - I meant to walk down and say hi but didn't want to lose my seat - again. Can't wait to see your pics.

Agreed. It was one of the major highlights of the Ohio show in May...maybe the most rockin' thing they've done in years. They played and sang the crap out of that song.

Great show, and perfect weather! Excellent company, too!

I thought it was very amusing though, since the Fraze is located next to a large Methodist church, that actually had a dinner for its youth group and then sent the youths over to the show tonight, that the band played the two songs with four-letter words (Changes Come & Ohio), and Karin made some comments about the venue's sound guy touching her ass. (Her choice of words, and it was because there were sound issues with her monitor.) So, I don't know what the Methodists thought, but I had a blast.

Thanks, Bill, for telling the band it was a special show for me, and for saving seats for Nadiya & I right up front. She's a little shy with strangers, but she really loved the show. Pictures to follow in the next day or so. (Too bad I have to work tomorrow. laugh.gif )

Since the free shows at Fraze start at 7, and usually don't have an opening act, it's not surprising that the show was over around 9. I think the band could have played longer if they had wanted to, but they did play 19 songs, which is the length of a typical show for them these days.

As usual--I loved the show at the Fraze Pavillion--I cannot believe that OtR had never played that venue prbefore--it is a great place---not a bad seat anywhere and it has pretty good acoustics---I have seen many great shows done by some great performers at the Fraze.

Click on the link for a photo gallery I put together on Flickr of some of the photos I shot at the show:

Hopefully it works--I had something funky going on in trying to upload---let me know if the pics are there or not.

If they are---I hope everyone likes them.

I think I can make out "kill" on it in one of my pictures, but I just made a rough pass through them last night. I'll do a thorough inspection tonight. laugh.gif

It was a flippin' awesome-rockfest-o-love! heh. The band had some serious energy flowing after the intermission - if you were there and not having a rockin' good time somethings wrong. wink.gif

It was good seeing y'all too. smile.gif Hopefully there won't be so many months between this show and the next!

'Yote just pointed this thread out to me, because he noticed I'd gotten a dead on shot when he was looking through my livejournal post. Here ya go!

You can see the detail better if you click on the image to enlarge it.
I haven't made a flickr page yet, but if you want to see more, here are the two livejournal posts (the second is mostly photos, I do a little more description of our trip on the first but it's pretty picture heavy too, just a heads up):
Part One of the OTR picture posts
