Any X-Files fans here? I enjoyed the chemistry between Duchovny & Anderson but was never a die-hard, every episode watching fan. However, from what I've been reading, this newest offering from Carter, Duchovny & Anderson looks to return the magic. It may be the one I go see on the big screen this summer.

You can read a review here if you're interested.

I'm kind of surprised I've never gotten into this show. Hmm, think I'll check out the first season from the library.

I am a huge X-Files fan. Better believe I will be going to see the movie. I have the first movie on dvd. I watched all the episodes on tape. Yep, I said tape. Before I had a dvd player and before they came out.

I love the chemistry between Mulder and Scully. I kept wanting them to hook-up all of the times.

Great show!!

I liked it quite a bit. (I have all 9 seasons and the first movie on DVD.) I went in with no expectations, and I would probably give it a B on Bruce's scale of 1-8 (with 8 being the highest). laugh.gif I think it's funny that so many critics are saying it's like a double episode of the show. What else were they expecting? It was like a double episode of the show, and while not as good as the best ones, it was far superior to most of the last two seasons.

But as cool as Dr. Scully is, I miss gun-toting Agent Scully... rolleyes.gif

(And I wasn't a fan of the romance, but it's not like they can undo that plotline now.)

We saw it Sunday. I liked it. I was a fan of the series but kinda stopped my obsession with it when Gillian Anderson left.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The movie was great...very entertaining and kept my attention. I'm kinda sad that they are not a duo working together as agents like before. They are really not agents at all in the movie but acting to assist the FBI only. Gone are the good ol days. Scully seemed so reluctant to get involved with the case and seemed more interested in her medical case. Mulder was excellent as usual. Ever believing.

Trust no one.

I haven't seen it yet (hence skipping Trudes' posting)... biggrin.gif
But I want to. Maybe I'll get my sitter for few hours this weekend and go see it by myself!

Yeah, I've missed it, too. I'm contemplating rewatching the whole series in order again, now, since I have the DVDs... It was so good to have Mulder & Scully back again.

I saw it yesterday but... but...

Is it just me or it's just not the same anymore? mad.gif

Well, it's been 7 years since the show ended, so of course it's not going to be the same.

It was...okay. The only major complaint I had was that I feel like it could've easily been a non X-Files movie...as in there wasn't really anything to the plot that put it uniquely in X-Files territory. Which isn't to say it wasn't enjoyable, but I was hoping it'd be a bit of an alien thing, tackled in the way only that show could. Maybe even addressing, in some way, what really did happen to Mulder's sister. But instead, it sort of played out like one really long episode of the show, not bad, but not really a standout episode either in that it didn't tie in with any of the mythology of the show's overall story arc.

I wasn't disappointed, but I wasn't really overwhelmed either...it's a weird contradiction. It's clearly designed to stand on its own and be accessible to people who weren't intimately familiar with the show, yet it was only really marketed to fans, and really, regardless of marketing, no one outside of the show's fan base was going to see this anyway, so why not just go all out and make a film that felt like part of the overall series, rather than just a footnote?
