According to Yahoo!, entertainers' average wage is down 46.11% this year. Go support your favorite band this summer! That is all. smile.gif

Yet ticket prices are higher than ever. rolleyes.gif

Article link? I'm curious if they mean like...famous entertainers or like, normal non-famous people who play locally, do live theatre, etc. Huuuge difference there. If it's the latter, it would make sense, sadly.

I can't find the stupid article again, one of the main gripes about Yahoo's featured articles, but it was lumping all entertainers together, even sports enterainers

Yeah...i'm not really sure that's a very valid statistic since the economics of pro sports and hollywood, while both filthy rich way beyond what they probably deserve, operate quite differently I would think.

I'd be curious to see it broken down into individual areas though...I can't imagine the average salary of pro athletes is going to go down anytime soon, although I feel like at some point, the huge A-Rod-style contracts will reach their breaking point and you'll see a lot less of them. (although I think the average salary will continue to rise)

Well, I don't think they were counting high profile "professionals" because the average salary was only in the mid 30s for entertainers and high 40s for actors... Wish I could find that effin article. But after searching 10 pages, I gave up.
