I just checked the Cayamo 2009 website and they have Over the Rhine as a confirmed artist. I recommended them after Cayamo 2008, but never thought they would get invited. To good to be true!

OK now I really need to convince Karen we should be on that boat! Everyone I know who went on the first cruise had an amazing time.

and its a day longer than last year.

If you break it all down, it's not that bad. An 8 day, 7 night Caribbean cruise without all the free music would normally be around $600 per person. If you paid to see all these artists separately (not to mention the bonus you get when they undoubtedly collaborate during the trip) it would easily cost way more than the per person ticket price at Cayamo. Plus they offer a payment plan! Wow, did I just convince myself?

wow... I just convinced myself. Now I need to find out if someone wants my spleen (or some other useless organ)... biggrin.gif

I snuck on a half-gallon of bourbon and one liter of vodka last year and still ran up a $700.00 bar tab. At least on NCL you can purchase a bottle to be placed in your room (at premium price). After all that, it was still worth the trip. This is a trip everyone should try at least once, even if you have to sell you soul.

so scott, what you're really saying is if it worth selling your soul for, a lousy ol' spleen would be cheap passage, right? wink.gif laugh.gif

I might consider my spleen, just not my kidneys. It sure was fun talking, eating and drinking with all the artists.

Well, guys & girls --- I'm a fan of OTR and I did go on Cayamo 2008 and I've already booked passage on Cayamo 2009!
Yea, I drank a lot on the cruise and ran up a good sized bar tab. But So What? It wasn't as much as the wife used on her Spa visits!!!!!
Really though, it was the trip of a lifetime!

I booked the 2009 Cruise to hear Lyle Lovett, Beth Wood, and Glenn Phillips. I was estatic when I heard OTR was booked too!!!!
Imagine, sleeping late, have breakfast watching the Carribean float by, going swimming in a pool on deck, readings, checking out the sights on board, and then grabbing a drink and going from lounge to lounge all afternoon and evening with friends listening to music by great artists in an intimate setting. For breaks, we played blackjack in the casino, ate in the restaurants, listened to music on the open deck stage, and caught some rays when we could. Then there were the side trips at the ports of call.
Yep, I've paid good money for good tickets before but never have I gotten such a good deal as Cayamo.

I just need to stop reading this thread. I know its not going to happen for me sad.gif

Just that alone might be worth it to sell both the spleen AND the soul!

Hey everyone! I'm a new member here, and I'm hoping someone can help me out. I would really like to go on Cayamo next year, but I'm a bit confused...

Does this mean that the $1,000 is per person, or is it split between the two occupants? I'm very confused about this. Thank you very much!
