This is intolerable.

Hoping to catch it by the weekend. I opted to wait for the insanity to pass as well.

I liked it. It wasn't raiders of the lost ark, but at least it wasn't temple of doom. smile.gif
Pay close to attention in the warehouse scene - the Ark of the covenant makes a cameo.
And try not to groan when Indiana says "I've got a bad feeling about this." (ahem, Mr Lucas, WRONG FRANCHISE!!!!!!).

I'll not say anything more, since I don't want to give away any spoilers.

Eh, it was okay. The CGI and special effects in general were kind of lacking for a Lucasfilm production (the exterior shots in the warehouse scene were far too obviously shot on a soundstage, for starters), but it was nice watching Harrison Ford be all badass. I don't think I'd have lost anything from the experience by renting it.

I've been hearing so many GOOD things about Iron Man that I'm thinking of catching it tomorrow night rather than Indy.

Meh, I think if I had come into the theater knowing nothing about Marvel Comics, I would not of enjoyed Iron man. Then again, that might just be me.

I think a good test of wether you should see indiana Jones though - did you grow up with it? If you did, go see it, you'll love it. If you didn't well, maybe not so much. smile.gif Heh, I still remember my mom being awstruck of the brand new rating "PG-13" on Temple of Doom. biggrin.gif

Aaron...you crack me up. I was 35 in 1981.

Wait. OK, I guess I was still in the process of growing up. Nevermind.

I'd take a medicore Indy movie over yet another damn CGI-laden comic book flick. Seriously guys, enough already.

Especially a fascist asshat like Tony Stark. I still believe he was behind the assasination of Captain America. Oh, wait, most of you haven't read Civil war, lol. Pay no attention to the Comic Book Geek in the corner. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

Though I will admit, if Tony gets his @#$#$ whipped by the Hulk, well, I'll pay good money to see that. biggrin.gif

I was a huge Indiana Jones fan growing up. Crystal Skulls disappointed me. For lack of a better word it was just too corny and fantastic (in the bad sense of the word). I keep looking back and trying to figure out if my high expectations doomed the film, but I don't think so. It simply didn't have the same sense of storytelling that Raiders and The Last Crusade did. Now to jump into the other discussion--I'm not a comic book person, never really have been. I did enjoy the first two Spiderman movies and the last Batman movie. I saw Ironman only because my brother drug me there, but I absolutely loved it! Ironman had an emotional resonance that Crystal Skulls desperately lacked.

Probably the best review i've read so far:

"The experience of watching "Crystal Skull" is similar to that of seeing the present-day Rolling Stones in concert. There's no question that the production is first-rate, the skill honed and professional and the principals are having a ball. But it'll never match the rag-tag excitement and originality of the old days."
