kab
There has been a little talk about meeting up for the special "Ohio" show at National City Pavilion next weekend (Saturday, May 24). I am coming in from out of town and, although I'm coming in mainly for the show, it would be a lot less fun if we didn't get together beforehand. I know some of you recently saw each other at CST, but not all of us were there.

***CHANGE OF ESTABLISHMENT***
Lebo's - just a stone's throw from the venue; not a chain; good food and good memories
5869 Kellogg Ave.
Cincinnati, OH 45228

4:30pm-ish... we might be on the deck.

So - who's in? smile.gif

I am not local and don't really know where these places are. I don't know which location of B-Dubs we're talking about. But I want to know where I'm going before I get there.

So - who's in? And which do you prefer?

01: Kelly (1: The Foreign Exchange; 2: B-Dubs; 3 - Salem Gardens)

I *am* local and I don't know where these places are (but I haven't lived on the east side of town for a good 17 years). biggrin.gif I'm always up for trying something new, though.

It's looking like we ARE going to be at the show, but I don't know if we'll be driving in from French Lick or not, so I wouldn't plan on us. Y'all have fun though, and we'll see you at the show!

06: Bruce (who will either temporarily get over his anti-chain restaurant stance to make this, otherwise suggest Lebo's very near Riverbend. As Kent/Bill/almost anyone who's anyone will attest, it's awesome! We've never had their food, but I expect it's just bar food, and besides - we're there just to see eachother! It's a HUGE place. Plus, I apologize in advance for trying to take over the restaurant steerage committee way after the fact. I'm just back in from stalking Duran on tour!)

Too bad it would take awhile to eat and then back to get to the venue in time--but a fun place to eat is The Knotty Pine on the Bayou over in Wilder, Kentucky if ya like cajun style food----its got a nice view of the Licking River and they do have some great cajun style food---every bit as good as what you might find in places like New Orleans, Baton Rouge or Lake Charles.

i've never had the food, but it is a cool place and at most of those neighborhood joints the food is above average but, as bruce said, i'd imagine it's along the "bar food" type menu. and i must add, i heard the most stirring rendition of "sweet caroline" (courtesty of mr. lachey) that i've ever heard in my life there. laugh.gif plus, it's very easy to find and virtually "rock throwing" distance from the venue.

this was all i could find re: the menu...

this is the problem with letting someone from so far away do the planning!! tongue.gif as i said from the very beginning, tell me when and where and i'll be there. especially if it's close. i'm more than willing to edit the original post from b-dubs to lebo's. i mean, really! bruce, you can gladly take over the steerage of this party planning committee.

except: what time does the concert start? does lebo's not really open til 7pm on saturday??

i am a planner though and i hated that no one was taking the initiative. i'm not complaining, just saying. smile.gif do we need reservations? if so, who wants to make them?

good catch kelly, bruce?

the show does start at 8:00PM, that probably rules out lebo's if their opening is @ 7:00. for me anyway...

I AM a planner! I just wasn't sure I was going to the show, or would be able to make it pre-show even if I *WAS* going. Now that all looks greenlighted for my attendance, and once I saw KAB and Walrus were showing up, the rest seemed like a no brainer that I'd HAVE to attend a pre-show thing.

Upon phoning Lebos, found out that it is true that they don't open until 7 on Saturday. 7 AM!!! I was confused at seeing that at first, because for many a show at Riverbend we've gone for a beer beforehand, and they were always open.

I verified with the Lebos switchboard operator that 10-20 people around 5pm on Saturday shouldn't be a problem.

So... Lebos it is?

Great Burgers, Soups and Chili are just fantastic. Sometimes I just want to go back in the kitchen and kiss the lady preparing the food. Just seems like my mother made it fresh off the stove... Got to try Lebo's.

should we meet there at 5pm? 4:30?

oh, and -- i'm flying into dayton and renting a car. my flight is supposed to come in at 2pm. if anyone is between there and cinti, or inside cinti, and wants a ride, pm me and we can work out the details -- as long as my flight isn't delayed, of course.

no sense in every last one of us driving, is there?

I'm going to try and make it to dinner, but I don't want to make any promises. I am planning to leave my good cameras at home for this show and bring a flashless disposable or two.

So, do we have an official time? I saw 4:30 or 5??

It's at Beer O'Clock.

It's at Beer O'Clock.

I'm not the most on time guy, but I'd say 4;43 would be a good target. If it's nice, try the deck? Assuming it's nice enough to be out for a few hours. I forget what else is happening that day...
mpgarr
The weather actually seems it might be nice this weekend--mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid 70s---not as good as we might like it-but much better than it has been recently---no rain and at least somewhat warm!!

From Weather.com--the website of The Weather Channel--for Saturday, May 24, 2008 for Cincinnati, Ohio--the forecast is sunny with a high of 73 degrees farenheit and a low of 53 with the day being sunny.

It should be nice to sit out on the deck.

Mariesaac
I'll be there, plus 1. 5pm-ish.

So is all of Ohio smoke free now? Not sure if we will come to dinner depending on whether Lebo's is smoke free or not. Amanda is very sensitive to all kinds of smells these days.

Just ignore me...I'll eventually figure out what day it is and where I am.

I drug her up the steps and told her she keeps quiet or I am gonna never forgive her! Sorry for the inconvienence to everyone for her MOUTH! She WON'T BE BACK!
