Thanks bro, but I'm flying into/out of Dayton and I'll be staying at the Doubletree. You're welcome to half the room -- no charge.

It would only cost me $100 to change it, but that's not the problem. The problem is that my friend is getting marriend in May and i'm a bridesmaid. (i'm kinda the maid of honor until wedding day because her sister is out of town and i'm next in line) And her bachelorette party is on the 26th and i'm in charge of it.

I can't believe i'll be on break and still won't make it to the best venue with the best audience! sad.gif

Well, you really need to talk to your friend about relocating that bachelorette party! Here is is, straight from the horse's mouth.

they couldn't do this one on a better weekend. i'm so excited to see everyone!!!! smile.gif

here's to another great CST weekend...

Euphrates
Oh, you KNOW we'll be there! Likely with Zon and Alex in tow...too bad it's a bar and they can't bring Nicky for his first OTR show, but I suspect he'll be with them at the Kettering show in July (just in time for his birthday actually). And with *any* luck, we'll have the girlfriend with us - woohoo!!!

what does everybody think about a saturday "side trip" to yellow springs? i've heard great things, it's a little "hippie" arts community, the home of dave chappelle, supposed to be a fun place. any of you locals...is it worth a trip?

looks to be about an hour or so from dayton...
stivmc
Looks like a definite for Amanda and I on Saturday only.

Kate and I venture up there a few times each year - it's definitely an interesting little town. The two most notable activities are the hiking trails in Glen Helen Nature Preserve, for you outdoorsy types, and lots of little unique shops with handmade artsy stuff - jewelry (and jewelry making supplies), blown glass, art prints, imported clothing, a head shop, used book stores, etc., for those who'd rather not brave the muddy trails.

If you go, be sure to stop at Rita Caz jewelry and guitar shop and say "Hi!" to Mark. If you can talk him into playing a little blues guitar with you, you'll be glad you did. smile.gif

If you go to Glen Helen, they prefer that you sign in first at the nature center and get a map (it's free).

The restaurants tend toward veggie, except for the Ye Olde Trail Tavern which has good beer and good grub.

In the summer, there's a farmer's market Saturday mornings until noon, but April 26 is probably too early in the year for that.

Yellow Springs is about 30-45 minutes from downtown Dayton.

MUST go to Young's Dairy (I've been telling 'Yote about it for ages). *grin* I haven't been to Yellow Springs in about 4-5 years. My ex used to go rock climbing in Clifton Gorge (back when they'd still let you climb), and we'd go a couple of times every summer. I *seriously* like this plan. biggrin.gif

And I mailed off for our tickets yesterday! Can't wait!

I should be there with bells on!

Need to send Zayne a PM, think she will be riding up with me and staying at my parents' house with me.
Oops... mom, in case you read this, make an extra bed for Zayne! unsure.gif

Jeanne
Yay for Justina & Zayne!

I'm always up for Yellow Springs. I've never heard of that orchard, though. Used books, used cds at Dingleberry's, jewelry everywhere. And Young's Dairy does have great ice cream.

So, I order tickets for CST with plenty of time to receive them back. . . and I did. But instead of the two friday night tickets and two saturday night tickets I requested I received four tickets for the Friday night show.

boo.....

Luckily I called them up right away and the lady was gracious about correcting the problem. I sent the two extra Friday nighters back and she agreed to hold two Saturday night tickets for me.

and then, she called to say that she mailed them instead. (why? I dunno. maybe it was an after thought)

and I still haven't received them. . . . ninja.gif

I hope my tickets are in my mailbox when I get home tonight. dry.gif

So, do we need to decide where to meet up before the Friday and Saturday shows?
The usual places- Brixx Friday and Thai 9 Saturday? Or somewhere else?
Yellow Springs looks like a lot of fun for Saturday.
I've got a few work friends from the Columbus office that have never heard/seen OtR and I convinced them
to go to the Saturday show, and they would want to join us for a pre-show meal on Saturday if that happens.
Can't believe its next weekend already. So looking forward to seeing all the Apples again.

brixx, while not the greatest food (not bad either), is a good choice for friday so people can wander in as they get there. so i'm cool w/that. for saturday, thai 9 seems to be a tradition and the place of choice. someone would need to get a body count and make reservations tho.

but, i'm cool with whatever...
kent
ok, so i called thai 9, and they said they have no room for a large group next saturday night.
maybe someone local can try to call there and verify that.

so any ideas where to go saturday pre-show?

any ideas ohio people? if we're going to meet as a group somewhere we probably need to find a spot soon.
i see theres a seafood place in that area- jays, whats thats like?
and there are some other places in the oregon district too.
otherwise we'll just meet in the lineup i guess.
ShawnF
I'm really not very familiar with good eating options downtown or in the Orgeon district--almost everything that I know or frequent would be too far out from the venue.

Also, won't be able to come to dinner as I'll be on the way back north from Louisville and will likely head straight for CST. Hope you can figure something decent out, though!
keith from ny
There's always the Spaghetti Warehouse!
