Details and the rest of the show are here. We were 2nd row center, and it was a real treat to hear Grace & co. playing at less than ear-bleeding volumes with a quiet but very supportive audience. smile.gif

Btw, this is what the Allen Room looks like from the back of the room:

That's 59th Street in the window behind the stage with Central Park on the left. And the place sounds as good as it looks!

Damn ! How cool is that ?...

Nice review of Grace's NYC show in the online NY Times here (you may have to register to read it).

Also a great pic of her doing her hair thing at the B-3:

Thursday night I went with my friend Andy to the Cabooze Bar in Minneapolis to see Grace Potter.
Ah, the good ol' Cabooze, it had been at least 20 years since I had been there, probably to see
the early The Replacements or even the legendary Minnesota blues band Lamont Cranston.
Wow, what a show Grace and the Nocturnals put on, a very nice 90 minute set. Whether she was seductively strutting the stage
between the keyboards or the guitar or swinging her hair around, she was up there smiling and having a blast.
Her band is incredible and her music is loud, but was not at ear-ringing levels. Benevento and Russo opened,
and they also came out to play with the band on a few songs. My buddy Andy was totally blown away by the show,
as he had never heard any of their music before. I myself had not been that enamored by her music,
as I had gotten her 2 albums before, but they never really hit home. But after listening to Keiths wonderful NYC
recording of her show, and after Martys/Keiths/Bills buzz about the band I figured I needed to see her.
Highlights included a killer cover of Steve Millers 'Jet Airliner', and the incredible 'Nothing But the Water', which
started out with Grace singing a gospel/soul solo and eventually led into that unbelieveable drum solo
with all 4 members plus Joe Russo playing on the drums.
And her cover of Dr. Johns 'Right Place Wrong' Time was a stunner. Wow.
Heres the setlist.
