REALLY looking forward to
this one. It looks
ABSO-FABU! The guy who plays her dad was a regular for a while on either "Law & Order" or one of its spin-offs and is now on "The Closer." I sure hope it makes it to Vincennes, but since it's about life -AKA- teen pregnancy I'm not holding my breath.

We saw it, Cher....and thought it was excellent. Michael Cera was on Arrested Development and also in Superbad. The young woman I have not seen before but she did a great job and was a real star. Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner were also superb...especially JB, I thought. Hope you get to see it.

I can't wait to see it... we watched Superbad over the weekend, which was funny. A little raunchy, tho.
So, hopefully this weekend...

I just saw it--it's adorable, but not in a cloying Hollywood sort of way. Ellen Page, who plays the title character, gives a funny and honest performance, and Michael Cera once again nails the awkward lovable teenage boy character he's more or less associated with. Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner are great as well. I agree with Trudy that Jason Bateman seems a little stronger, but I think that's because his character has a few more layers than Jennifer Garner's does. Also, Alison Janney has several great scenes as Juno's stepmom, and Rainn Wilson has an awesome scene at the very beginning of the film.

I <3 Alison Janney.

Great movie....not sure anyone in real life would have the reaction Ellen Page does when discovering she's pregnant, but a really well done, entertaining flick. Everyone in the cast was really outstanding, and you can't argue with any movie that puts multiple
Arrested Development cast members in it.

Well, I have seen her then. That was her in Hard Candy? She was great in that as well.
That was quite the disturbing movie. (HC)
I'll be looking for her name in movie to come.

Also Kitty Pryde in X3...
I'm really looking forward to seeing this sometime this weekend.
I was really suprised to see that this film made it into a small town theatre like ours.
Oscar buzz and all that though.

Totally loved it. We saw it yesterday and it went beyond what I expected.
Everyone was fantastic in it.
re: Ellen Page, I don't know which line of view would be trippier as far as admiring acting credits. Seeing Hard Candy first then Juno, or seeing Juno then Hard Candy. Either way, that little Ellen rocks my movie world. My friends were talking about how awesome "the girl" was in the movie yesterday so I told 'em, "Rent Hard Candy on your next Blockbuster visit...". I hope they do.

I must be going crazy...I wrote a review of this last night, but must have not pushed the submit buttom or something. I think I'm going crazy...
Anyway...
Last night I finally got to the theatre to see this, and it's one of the best things I've seen in a long, long time. Every main character was beautifully acted, especially the kid playing the young father (i'm too lazy to go to imdb right now). His role was somewhat like competing in a mile-long egg race, in that if he over-acted even slightly, at any point, the believability of the character was out the door. Amazing job.
As the end credits rolled, I actually found myself cheesing. I don't exactly have a penchant for the cloyingly sentimental, but the closing scene is just perfect.
The feel of the movie was somewhat similar to what Braff seemed to be going for in Garden State. However, I thought Garden State was more charming than actually good (Becky please don't kill me in my sleep), while this film (Juno) was just top-to-bottom great.

HAH! You're off the hook, actually, because I agree that
Juno is a better charming-yet-quirky indie-youth film than
Garden State is. I liked
Garden State a lot, but for me,
Juno's characters ring truer and the ending is far more plausible.
Also, you finally spelled my name right, James, so I can't even harass you for that this time!

great film - enjoyed it from beginning to end. i'm glad to live in a city where the opening day for some of these films is much sooner than most anywhere else in the country.

Saw this last night--I agree that it was great. My favorite part was the orange Tic-Tacs!!! I am completely obsessed with these--they are amazing. The gf kept poking me whenever they were mentioned (I had just bought some). Great movie with a cool little connection for me!

Finally got around to seeing this movie... what a treat. If only I could know a couple of people like Juno and Beezer in the real world, who just did their thing and were that happy at it.
