Gorgeous Nicko
Hi all,

I've been invited to introduce myself and tell the story behind my name.

Well, I'm really just Nick (surprised?) and the 'gorgeous' bit is a value judgment, possibly now revised! I had a gf a few years back and she got it into her head that I resembled 'Gorgeous' George Clooney - poisonally, I never really saw it, though we might have had similar hair at the time ... possibly still do. Anyway, it was flattering enough so I didn't complain and I certainly didn't object to the handle, Gorgeous Nicko ... I mean, I've been called many things in my time. So, when she moved on, as can happen, I decided to remain Gorgeous. The end... well, so far, at least.

I ended up on this site by the purest of happenstance. I'm not really much of a Country Music fan, but the CM Awards were on TV here in the UK just before something I did want to see. The final number performed was 'Stay' by Sugarland ... and even though I wasn't really concentrating, I suddenly sat up and said "Wow!" despite myself. Over the next few weeks, I chased down pretty much anything and everything they (or Jennifer Nettles) had done ... and a Google link led me here accidentally. So, I played the musical tennis-elbow-foot game for a while before even realising that this was a band's music site. Well, it was only polite to check out the music ... and I got wowed once more. I absolutely adore Karin's smoky vokles .. can't get enough of numbers like "My Love is a Fever" or the sweet background moans on "Jack's Valentine". Anyway, if these things come in threes then I must be in for a rare musical treat sometime real soon! Meanwhile, thanks for having me.

Welcome, Nick! Thanks for sharing the story. Each time I saw your name, I kept thinking of "Ravishing Ronald" from the old Bugs Bunny cartoon where he fought The Crusher ("it's time I used a little stragety").

Great story Nick! We all find this place in our own unique way I suppose.

Looking forward to seeing you around,
(decidedly NOT gorgeous) John
