In this week's CityBeat, I notice that Over the Rhine will perform at the 11th Annual Cincinnati Entertainment Awards, which take place this Sunday evening at the Taft. On the bill are:
Over the Rhine
Buffalo Killers
Bad Veins
Wussy
and a few others. Holy cow! This might be pretty interesting. Admission is $15 and the event starts at 8 PM.

On the spur of the moment, I decided to go to this, and it absolutely was well worth it. In fact, I was surprised how great an event this was. The focus was on the bands performing and then there were the awards. The event flowed quickly and smoothly and was very professionally presented all the way.
The 4 bands I saw (OtR, Buffalo Killers, Bad Veins, Wussy) all put on terrific 3 song sets, about 15 min. each.
By the way, OtR won for "Best Musical Ambassador of Cincinnati", but did not win in the "Album of the Year" (which went to Wussy's "Left for Dead").
