sorry, i may have jumped the gun a little, i posted that as a tentative time. linford did tell me via e-mail yesterday that it looked like it would be 3:00PM, hopefully everything will be confirmed and "official" sometime this week. i'm gonna take that down until i receive the official confirmation of the time. there doesn't seem to be any doubts that it will happen, i'll repost it when it is offical.

Is there going to be a package like there was last year? Buy the Christmas album and a ticket to the Sunday show at the same time. My credit card is ready and waiting (since I also need to get tickets for the show in Kent).

i *think* linford was hoping to have more info available in the very near future, but they are pretty wrapped up in the tour right now too.

Bill, Is it a sho'nuff deal to buy airline tix with a return home Monday? I suppose the worst that could happen would be I spend Sunday with some delicious apples....no risk there. It's a Sunday well spent regardless of St Liz. biggrin.gif

edited cause i'm byslexic.

so how long do the st. e. shows last time wise?

They're on the short side. About 45 minutes to an hour give or take. Figure spending a good three or four hours there though. What with the food spread, the meet and greet, and just the nice lazy Sunday afternoon vibe... easily the better part of the weekend IMO.

there will be services in the church prior to the show, after the services are over it will have to be set up for OtR. i'm guessing, based on l/y, if it does start at 3:00, it'll be 2:00 or a little later before it's ready. i'm guessing and hour and a half or so for the show and yeah, people usually hang around for an hour or so after with many volunteering to help breakdown and clean up the church.

fwiw, i think it was a little on the short side last year because karin had been very sick on the days leading up to the taft and was really struggling with her voice. but iirc, it was still longer than 45 mins to an hour.

Done deal.
Arriving CVG 3:43 PM Sat. Leaving 6 am (yes AM) Monday.
Any thoughts on which hotel folks are staying at?
Also...I, for one, will need transpo from Cinti to Norwood and back on Sunday. I'm guess others will too.
Maybe local-ish folks with cars. I'll contribute to gas $$.

Put us down on the list of "if people need a ride while they're in town, we might be able to help." I'd offer crash space too, but it's not that big an apartment (and the girlfriend will be down...and the Taft show IS on my birthday...so I think we're going to keep that celebration private - sorry Juicy). biggrin.gif

I booked a room at the Westin. My plan is to drive down Saturday morning, go to the Taft show and then head back after the show on Sunday. I might be able to offer rides to the church but not back.
Trudes
I just booked the Millenium. It had the best rate (AARP). $116.00/night. Two nights.

Oh my. You folks need to acquaint yourselves with the joy that is priceline.com. Trust me...you can bet much better rates than that using the "pick your price" option.

True. Bidding on your room is not for everyone since you have no 100% guarantee on what you're finally getting, but I scored the millenium for super cheap last year, and I'll try to do it again this year too.

Any idea when tickets are going to be made available? I know Bill's got it listed on the myspace page now. smile.gif Just trying to budget. And...well...I'm anxious...and excited...and I wanna get us signed up!

this is posted in the "OtR store":
Snow Angels Soiree, December 16
Karin and Linford would like to invite you to join Over the Rhine on December 16th at 3pm (the day after our Taft Theater Homecoming Concert) at St. Elizabeth's in Norwood, Ohio, for a holiday gathering featuring an acoustic performance, some spoken word, some conversation and of course some festive food and drink.

We did this the last two years as well, and it's a great way to end our working year, surrounded by our extended musical family. See OvertheRhine.com for directions and more details.

Price of admission entitles you to bring a guest OR your spouse and children. Plus, you'll receive your limited edition copy of Live From Nowhere Volume Three in April of 2008, with a special treat for all who pre-order.

NOTE: YOUR EMAIL CONFIRMATION IS YOUR ADMISSION! Please print the confirmation email invoice you receive from Port Merchandise.

Price: $30.00

SWEET! Thanks Bill!

We're moving into our new house on the 6th so we'll be in town in time for all the Christmas in Cincy festivities! Talked to Karin last night and she said that Myron and Betsy and I should definitely come and meet everyone...so if all goes well we'll see y'all there!

Sorry to say this folks, but I am going have to pass on the trip tomorrow. I have had to work a lot this week and really just need to stay home for the day.

I'll miss you all.

linford asked me to "Pls pass along my thanks to all who pitched in" with the set up and break down @ st. elizabeth's yesterday. there are so many to mention and and thank and i know that would forget somebody, you know who you are, and more importantly, so do K&L.

the place was beautiful, warm and inviting and wouldn't have be so without your generosity, time, effort and help. thank you all.
