ok, i think i'm ready...
anna and beth picked keith up at the airport, jeanne came in from dayton and we all met up in jeffersonville, jumped in anna's car and headed out for the hour and half drive up to b'ton. it was a fun drive up, lot's of good music and laughs. once we got in to town, we dropped in the theatre and said a quick hello and took a short walk down kirkwood for a great dinner at "the snow lion," a tibetan restaurant owned by the dalai lama's nephew. after dinner, we headed back up to the buskirk-chumley and grabbed our seats. i worked merch for a while so emmy & sharon could go have dinner with juicy, talked to griffin for a few minutes (he's offering a couple of sampler discs, "house of david volumes 1 & 2 for "whatever you want to pay"...very nice stuff), kylie and joe showed up shortly after, and we got to meet mike (canoecando) and cookie and all hang and chat for a while.
griffin did a great set of about 5 or 6 songs, mostly new stuff. OtR came out a few minutes later and competely rocked the joint, kicking off the set with "i don't wanna waste," you could tell from the second they hit the stage that they were feelin' it, and ready to play. even though i think they were feeling a little "crispy" from the extended tour, you never would have known it. they seemed really happy to be back so close to home and looking forward to some well deserved time off.
the buskirk-chumley (which karin seemed to love saying) is the old "indiana" movie theatre that has been beautifully restored and the acoustics are fantastict and as usual, juicy maxed it out, sounded amazing. keith got a really sweet recording (we listened to it, LOUD, on saturday night). we hung around a while, said our goodnights and headed home...with a slight detour by the salem, indiana waffle house.
oh! also...karin did a really nice dedication of "i'm on a roll" to anna w/linford chiming in a hilarious comment about them being "big at bachelorette parties."
it was a really good night...
