ok everyone, a little special notice about the taft show and tickets, this information is intended for the fan community and will not be advertised, promoted and/or available anywhere but right here...

OtR is going to make a limited number of tickets available via a presale @ http://overtherhine.com/ for this year's taft show (on sat 12/15). the presale will start this saturday, sept 29th (no time specified, check early, check often). this presale will replace what we have done here in the past few years w/me being the "middle man" for tickets.
  • tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis. when they are gone, they are gone (no qty specified, i'm guessing in the 50 +/- range like previous years). while this won't be advertised or promoted, it will not be passworded and anyone that enters the "our shop" area and clicks on the tickets tab will have the access to order.
  • you will not be able to specify or "see" your seats in advance, as glen referred to it, it requires a little 'leap of faith' but, all seats will be in the first 15 rows of the orchestra.
  • tickets will be @ face value (I'm guessing the low $20's) + $1.75 per ticket (which saves $8.25 "convenience charge" per ticket plus $4.70 per order that TM charges).
  • michelle shocked will be opening.
i think that's about it. if i think of anything else, i'll update. feel free to drop me a note if you have any questions (but, NO. i have no say in the seating arrangements, they will be handled by the taft).

and many thanks to karin, linford and glen for making this happen again this year.

see ya'll there. smile.gif

Ignore this. The second I hit 'post' I saw the correction of course

The Taft tickets are on sale now via port merch. Go to the shows tab on the website and click on the "on sale now" tab.

See you all in Cincy!

I find it odd that no one has posted anything in this thread. Why? It's been up for two days now...

Weird. unsure.gif

Anyway, where are the seats located? All five sections of the main floor or just the center like always before? I just orderd my tix, so I guess I'll have to wait for the mail to get here and see.

$61 gamble, I guess.
Jeanne
Wow. $32.71 for one ticket from the band. I'd hate to see what TicketBastard charges are going to be on these...

I guess I'll know just where I'm sitting when it arrives.

(And if it's the first 15 rows, even just the center section, that should be about 150 seats; considerably more if they're including the left center & right center.)

Bill says above they are in the orchestra, but on the Port Merch site, it just says the "main floor"... The entire first 15 rows in the orchestra are only 210 seats...

If you count the three rows of chairs they usually set up in the pit, then you probably have 250 total seats. But--would they really pre-sell that entire section?

Is that on top of the $31 from Port Merch? Or is that the price if I were to call the theater and order tickets outside the OtR shop (which I have already done thus rendering the whole issue moot)

glen is their manager, he said that to me when he asked me to let people know about this. pretty much everything you have asked/addressed is all in the original post i made. no, i don't think they have any intent of preselling "that entire section," never said or inferred they did. once the limited number of tickets are sold, they are sold and the offer will be pulled.

Just purchased 4 tickets.

Setting aside the issue of the TM charges etc, $31 is a 35% increase in face value over last year's best and priciest seats for the Taft show....

I just goy my two tickets. Damn, I am late. Hope I am not in the back. That sucked at the Moonlight Gardens show. Wasn't the same at all. One year for the Taft show I sat up top. Sound was horrible up there. My husband also snored throughout the entire show. I was ticked at that. He's not allowed to go anymore. I need to hang out here more often. Things just really suck around here as of late. Cannot wait to get my soul refreshed at the Taft show. Hoping to make it to Columbus.

Hey Bill,

You may also want to double-check with Linford on the exact date of the Taft show. It says Friday, Dec. 15 but the 15th is on a Saturday.

Hi Bill

Would you mind posting at the Orchard and spreading the word that we've placed an additional 250 tickets for sale at overtherhine.com, this time - prime seats in the center balcony, for just $25 + plus $1 service charge per ticket - that's cheaper than purchasing from the Taft box office in cash!

Happy standard time!
