I'm ever so excited about the Knitting Factory show on the 21st. The Saturday night show in San Diego is out of the question for me as I have to preach early Sunday morning. But I haven't completely ruled out the Sunday night show in San Juan Capistrano. I haven't gotten to see two shows in one weekend in a long time... it's tempting.

What other apples should I expect to see?

I'm on an opposite plan. I'm going to both the early and late shows in San Diego. Gawdywood is too much a pain to commute. The OC might be an option, but The Coach House typically has noisy fans ("geese"), a loud kitchen, and OtR is either co-headlining and/or has an opening band that night.
Mr. SoCal
I'd been looking for an excuse to pay a visit to California and had the weekend of the OtR shows targeted as a good time for a little vacation from Texas. Unfortunately, my grandma passed away last month, making a trip to CA during Labor Day weekend for her funeral a necessity. Since there's no way I could swing two trips out there inside one month I am, regrettably, going to have to pass on all these shows. I'm not very happy about it all.

Mr. SoCal is Mr. Texas now?? Goodness me. I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother.

It looks like I'm in for the Coach House show on Sunday night. I'm heading that direction with frannyglass/Mandy. Couldn't resist.

Although I may be in Texas, Texas is not in me. I am therefore clinging to the Mr. SoCal label. wink.gif And if I can somehow manage to find myself a new job back home I can honestly claim to be Mr. SoCal in truth as well as in spirit. smile.gif

Thanks for the condolences though. They're appreciated.

FWIW, if I had been able to be there for the shows, I would have attended both the Knitting Factory and Coach House shows. It's been a number of years since I last saw a concert at the Coach House, but I've had mostly good experiences there. Of course, each time I've been there I wasted money on their food for the sake of getting a good seat. I don't know how it'll be if you're in the back by the bar.
