...but this will be the first trip "home" for 'Yote since he moved down here a stone's throw from Over-The-Rhine (the 'hood)...and I've already started spreading the word amongst the old Brady's crowd.

AND it will be my first time seeing OTR at Kent Stage.

So who's up for a massive road trip?

Can you imagine a whole orchard descending on Mike's Place?
(Wonder if we'll fit in the bus...)

Is it a nice venue? This will be my first time going to a concert on OTR home turf (state of Ohio).

From what 'Yote says yes - this will be my first time seeing them at Kent Stage and he's all excited about getting me there. biggrin.gif

It's converted from an old 2 screen movies house (Pulp Fiction ran for a years there on dollar Wednesdays). They've done a nice job fixing the place up. I've seen a few shows there (having it been home town forever-) OTR and otherwise, and I don't think there's really a bad seat in the house. The MP3 of the month version of Trouble was recorded there.

Okay folks - it's getting closer! I think we may have convinced the girlfriend to let us kidnap her on the way north, and we'll be in town the whole weekend. Who's going? Who's up for brunch at Mike's Place at some point that weekend?

I only live about 45 minutes away just east of Cleveland so I'll be down there Friday night for sure. I was thinking of getting a pre-show meal at Ray's which came highly recommended (mmmm Stone 11th on tap). As soon as my next paycheck rolls around I'm picking up two tickets.

Hi all,
I'm actually from up here near Brigadier, in Twinsburg. If you are all meeting, and Ray's is a great place which I have a million fond memories of, perhaps me and hopefully my wife, can hook up, too.

We just did the Wexler Center show in Columbus, and while I'm not as enthused about The Trumpet Child as some of their other records, the show was very good. We had to stand there. That's how it was arranged. So Kent Stage should really be pretty nice.

But do please let me know and I may be able to meet you for lunch.

Sorry, I just got on this forum so I don't have a profile yet.

We were actually planning to do Mike's Place before the show. We'd LOVE to see how many Apples we can cram into the bus. *grins*

Yeah the standing on the stage was a little odd.

You say that like Brigadier's a real landmark, when it's Twinsburg's closer to an actual city (I'd never heard of Brigadier, I'm from Kent.

Ray's is good, But I've always like Mike's better, especially if I want to talk to the company. And the menu is so much more... expansive.

Come hang out at the X-Wing!

Heh...I think he was referring to the other poster in this thread, hon. Brigadier's not a place, he's an Apple. LOL

Looking very forward to the X-wing! *does happy dance*

You mean my house is not a landmark? And here I was thinking that by relocating I'd be the center of the known universe tongue.gif (I wish I was closer to Kent just to be nearer to 101 Bottles and Riverside. As a beer geek the selection there makes me drool).

Yeah, some days I shouldn't mix the cold meds and the intrawebs.

So we're thinking (rather early for Coyote think, too) that if you like to meet the girlfriends and I, along with the rest of the local apples I can carve out the walls for food and shenanigans at Mike's place in Kent around 5.

It's the Corner of 43 and 261 in Kent. There's a full scale X-wing out front and a catapult on top (pointed at Bob Evans).

you know ya wanna.

Last call and final reminder - we'll be at Mike's Place at 5:00 PM.
We will tell the hostess folks may be showing up looking for "The Apples", so if you decide to go, that's how to find us.

If not, see y'all at the show!
(Oh...and a little birdy told me it's Juicy's birthday Saturday)

Awww... I'd love to be there. At Mike's Place, too. Have a wonderful time!!!
Brigadier
I've got errands to run in the area before the show so I won't be able to see the X-Wing but if you want to catch me at the show look fo a red Louisville Cardinals jacket. Or you could just save me two seats when you get in the door and let me know where to find you. Either way I would love to meet some Over the Rhine fans more crazy than myself laugh.gif

Heh...Oh I think you've hit pay dirt on that score. smile.gif

We'll try to track you down! No idea what we'll be wearing just yet, but if you see the long haired guy with a pretty red head on one arm and a long-haired brunette with glasses on the other...you've probably found us. smile.gif If nothing else, I expect the girlfriend and I will be entertaining Juicy near the sound board during "Trouble" (don't know that I've mentioned she does burlesque...choreographed a dance for us to that song, and nearly made Linford stumble as he played it at the Dame when he spotted her...and it IS Juicy's birthday after all...teehee). Yeah, 'Yote's become Juicy's favorite fan these days, methinks. biggrin.gif

It was great meeting you and your lady at Mike's Place before the show! Thanks for coming!

And the evidence...
Here's Brigadier and lady!

And us at the show! First 'Yote and Kitminx...

And 'Yote and me.
