i e-mailed them your suggestion/idea, but they are currently out of the country on tour and have a lot going on preparing for the upcoming tour so i'm not sure where this will fall on their list of priorities.

personally, i think anything that's going to be used in this way, using their © images, etc to promote their product should;
a: be generated by them
b: at a minimum have their approval and/or blessing

i know personally i wouldn't feel comfortable participating otherwise. even though i think it's a great idea.

I think you're just being anal.

I mean, I'm thinking you just use elements you know they've already approved and you can take those cues from their website. This kind of organic, free, viral advertising is pretty common among the fans of a group. I certainly wouldn't try to put something up that's obviously shoddy or misrepresents the project.
