If you were put in charge of pillaging the Over the Rhine catalogue and Linford's instrumental albums for...
- the opening credits of an episode of a TV drama, like "Gray's Anatomy"
- the theme for a fantasy feature film like "Pan's Labyrinth" or "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe"
- the soundtrack for a horror movie
- the song playing over the culmination of a sweeping romance
... what would you choose?
This isn't just a random question. I'm actually asking for a good reason.
I'm especially interested in which of Linford's instrumentals are the most arresting and provocative for you.
Let me know! And who knows... maybe some TV exec or film producer is watching this thread and looking for ideas.

Great question! I know OTR has appeared on a handful of soundtracks and tv shows, but it surprises me that they don't appear more often.
Opening credits: "Give Me Strength" comes to mind pretty quickly. Other possibilities include "Lookin' Forward", "Goodbye (This is Not Goodbye)", "Faithfully Dangerous"
Romance: There are so many, but obvious answer is probably "Little Did I Know" or "I Want You to Be My Love". Personally, I'm crazy about "Hometown Boy" and would love to hear that in a film or tv setting. "Let's Spend the Day in Bed" is up there now, along with "Trouble". The dark horse candidate is "The Body is a Stairway of Skin"
I'm not sure about fantasy or horror... I'm not terribly familiar with Linford's solo stuff but maybe some of it would work.

I don't know where this would fit in, but the first time I heard "I'm On a Roll" I instantly thought it should be included in a movie soundtrack. If I think of a use for it I'll get back...

For a TV drama, I'd say "Little Genius" or "I Will Not Eat the Darkness" if you want an instrumental song. For something with vocals, I'd go with snipped-up versions of either "Born" or the Ohio version of "Bothered."
The other categories I'm not so sure about.

"The World Can Wait" might be a good track for a TV drama, though I've always said it's a dead ringer for a Bond movie.
