... what would YOUR question be?

Okay - so I checked the chat with JK at the Leaky Caldron site and read the questions that were asked and answered there, but here's one that I didn't see. Maybe I missed an explanation somewhere along the way in one of the books. Anyway, here's what I would have asked:

"Why didn't Harry see the Threstrals from his 1st year at Hogwarts?"

Upon arrival, he wouldn't have seen them because Hagrid escorts them from the station across the lake to Hogwarts, but surely he should have seen them on the trip back to the station at the end of year one. After all, they were visible to those who have seen death, and I'm sure that Harry witnessed Lily's death as she threw herself in front of him. Was he too young to realize what he had seen and that's why he didn't see Threstrals until after he saw Cedric die?

Any thoughts?

Why didn't you think of something more creative with regards to titles?

Cher, I thought this question was explained in the 5th book. The film breezed through the story so fast, but the book was quite detailed with explanations. You're correct in that basically Harry was too young to have any cognition what happened to his parents. The book I thought also mentioned Neville was also able to see them - another flaw in the film.

I just reread book 5 and don't remember reading about it, or maybe that's where the thought came from. Wasn't it something to do with Neville's grandfather's death?

Thanks,

Did John Hagee buy stock in the Harry Potter series? Considering all the free publicity he gives it (in the form of, "Read this and you're going to hell!!!).
