This year is winding down fast. Any shows coming up?

Well, I'm going to attempt the ticketbastard shuffle in about an hour for Springsteen in Milwaukee in March. We'll see how that works. rolleyes.gif

Floor or bust...seats are for wimps.

I'm still recovering from two Cowboy Junkies shows this past weekend! What I've got left this year:

11/29 - Alejandro Escovedo @ Williamsburg Music Hall, Brooklyn
11/30 - Grace Potter & the Nocturnals @ Highline Ballroom, NYC
12/2 - Hadestown (Anais Mitchell's folk opera) @ Somerville Theater, Boston
12/19 - Teddy & Kamila Thompson, Rufus & Martha Wainwright, Jenni Muldaur, Sonya Kitchell, Neal Casal, Tift Merritt & Christina Courtin @ Highline Ballroom, NYC (benefit concert for Darfour)

Only a handful of NYC dates lined up for 2008 so far, including Antje Duvekot's return to the Uptown Café and Grace Potter and Lori McKenna both at Lincoln Center.

oops, how did I forget Tift Merritt at Union Hall in February? smile.gif

Aaaaand...success!

The Chicago onsales for the fall tour were a total cluster****, but I managed to get right in and get GA floor for Milwaukee with no problems. Freakin' sweet.

Really sucks about Danny Federici though...talk about a guy being there from the beginning. Cancer can bite me.

Cat Power Hurts Vocal Cords, Postpones Dates
by Jana Green

Tomorrow may be Record Store Day, but today is Indie Rock Goddess Injury Day, or something. First it was Neko Case, whose ankle suffered a nasty boo-boo, forcing her to opt out of the current New Pornographers tour.

Now it's Cat Power, who had to cancel a gig last night (April 17) in Tempe, Arizona and six more upcoming engagements. The reason? Chan Marshall has damaged her vocal chords, and her doctor has ordered her to lay off the singing thing for a couple weeks. Oh no!

According to Matador, Chan's doctor will reassess her vocal cord situation after this little time-out and decide whether she needs to rest further. There are also plans afoot to reschedule the cancelled dates for later this year. Phew.

You'll find what's still on for now and what's not below. Thanks to reader Kevin Murphy for the tip, and feel better soon, Chan!
