Hi. I too am new here. I joined The Orchard on Sunday for the live chat. It seemed like an appropriate occasion.

My name is Mike. My favorite color is indigo and I enjoy short walks on the beach. Long walks make my feet tired. I'm a writer in Central California and I also work in film production while chipping away at a degree in Theology and Ethics. (I'm almost finished with the degree!)

I'm a huge fan of Sixpence None the Richer and other Sixpence fans made sure I checked out Over the Rhine, so that was my introduction to them. The first album I picked up was Til We Have Faces. I think that was right around the time I did a little bit of promoting for a record label called Squint (during the last couple months of the label's existance) and a CD they produced called Roaring Lambs which included "Goodbye (This is Not Goodbye)." So I'm not completely sure if I heard that song before I picked up Faces, but it was about the same time. Since then, I've purchased Films for Radio, Ohio, Changes Come, and Darkest Night of the Year. So I am still building my Over the Rhine collection.

Just to clarify since someone will inevitably ask, I was not on staff at Squint. It was a short term street-team-for-pay kind of situation. I only did promotions for two albums: Roaring Lambs and PFR's Disappear. PFR is my favorite band of all time. Others at the top of the list would include Nickel Creek, Huey Lewis and the News, Rush, Jars of Clay, King's X, Coldplay, and Radiohead.

I'm not a Hollywood snob by the way, so try not to stereotype me based on my environment. However if you want to stereotype me based on what you think a writer is like, that will probably be a very accurate perception. If my introduction is lacking any desired content, let me know.
