Does anybody have a recording of the show OtR did with the (Northern) Kentucky Symphony Orchestra back in the mid '90s at Devou Park in Covington ? I remember it being outstanding but my memories are vague - I do, however, remember an ABBA tune, Dancing Queen late in the show, maybe an encore number....and done really, really well (Terri was singing in the band then) And they sounded so perfect with the orchestra

An mp3 of Dancing Queen was offered as a Rarity on OtR's website years ago. It can be downloaded (along with a bunch of other OtR Rarities) from this page (scroll down until you see OtR Rarities (zip file) and right click to save).

Not a great-sounding recording, but it sure is fun!

I have it on cassette (I think Shelly sent me a copy?) One of these days I'll get around to converting it to MP3/WAV files and if/when I do, I'll be glad to start a vine for it.

Shelly did do some sort of tree for this on the old list. I have a cassette copy somewhere, too, but the sound quality on mine was so murky that I never tried to transfer it. I don't know if they all sounded like that or if I just got a bad copy. Since it was free, I didn't ask questions at the time.

I've got a CD out to Keith this morning... I know he's into the vines (I'm not anymore)... so hopefully y'all will have it soon enough.

Thanks Dan, that's mighty generous of you! smile.gif

I can't in good conscience encourage anyone to start vines here any more, because there have just been way too many instances of people shirking their responsibility to the people waiting in line after them. I'll certainly never seed another one myself, it's just too frustrating to watch them die (and in some cases die multiple deaths after being reseeded). As an experiment, however, I will try something with this recording that I've seen work successfully in another music forum -- starting a tree to two people who are willing to copy and send the CD on to two other people. When those people receive it, they post that they will accept requests from two others via PM who are also willing to burn it on to two others, etc. The music gets out pretty quickly this way to the people who are really motivated to hear it, although you have to be willing to burn and mail CDs to two people within a few days of receiving the recording.

I don't know if this will work any better here than the vines have or not, but we'll see! I'll post something in the Vines forum late next week when I'm ready to copy & send out the CD (I'll be on the concert trail tomorrow through Tuesday).

i'm with you keith. i took a leap of faith with the ryan adams stuff after much disappointment in the past. it's the first new vine in a long time, i'm hoping that one will survive for a while and maybe rekindle some interest.

if you'll send me a copy, i'll be happy to volunteer to forward this on "to 2 friends, and so on..." and i'll send one additional to brian since he started this ball rolling...

I would like to get in on this one If I can. "OtR did with the (Northern) Kentucky Symphony Orchestra back in the mid '90s at Devou Park in Covington" I will pass it along to the next person who requests it.
I am assuming it is different than the other vine floating around.
Let me know .
Thanks

This one can be found here. Both threads are about the same show. It appears you are receiving a copy from Kent.
