Finally, a nice change from the muted greys and greens of OTR album covers!

What glee for me!! The artist of the cover is from Ann Arbor and I bought a special edition poster with this design on it back in May! I fell in love with this artwork the moment I saw it. I felt that whimsical OtR feeling and wanted to gaze at it for hours while sipping on vintage red wine and listening to my favorite music.
I never buy posters at concerts and perhaps that helps you understand how much I loved this work of art...

Perhaps a minor observation, but I dig that the "the" is underlined.

First, the cover is outstanding... knocking Ohio out of first place (for me, at least) as their best cover art.
Second, they are really cranking up the suspense on this one... All the bits of info are coming a little at a time. The title, the date, the cover art, next should be the tracklisting and then eventually a couple of mp3s on their MySpace page to sample...

I think the artwork is beautiful but the layout doesn't feel right. I feel like something is missing. Not that all the space needs to be filled of course, but it shouldn't feel unbalanced, and that's how I'm feeling it. I really like the illustration, but this isn't one of my favorite album covers.

I know what you mean - it's not "comfortable". I'd like it better if the "victrola" were moved slightly to the right and the text moved to the left of it so that the flower is hanging over the text.
But... that'd be
boring.
I've come to realize that I like boring stuff and I'm okay with that. But other people don't, so y'all have fun.

For some reason, the album cover reminds me of the copulating flowers in
Pink Floyd The Wall.

what do you think... the ablum starts of with a 'mono'... tinny, muted trumpet meandering as if over am radio in the 30's.. and then slowly fades into a full 'stereophonic' soundscape as the song progresses....
corny, and I hope Im wrong.
regardless.... sign me up baby. I cant wait to get this one.

I like the cover. The blue backdrop reminds me of the wallpaper that was in the hallway of the old house I grew up in... only that was bright red. (yeeesh) Heh.

you mean, kind of like "like a radio?"
but i think it's a sax.

...yeah... now that you caught me without paying attention to myself.... yep, I guess thats what I mean....
