okay, this might be a silly question but I was wondering, does anybody know the brand of Karin's wristwatch? the wide leather one that she often wears at concerts. I love it and am looking for a similar one. I noticed from pictures that even though the strap is quite wide, it looks fairly thin and fits snugly, and this is what I would need, not a wide strap designed for men.
thanks for reading and for any suggestions. =)

I don't know the brand of Karin's, but I'd recommend checking out Fossil.
They've got a good line of leather band watches.
I don't know what the big department store is where you live but I'm guessing they carry them.
Have fun shopping.

thanks, Michelle. =) I did check out Fossil's website earlier and fiddled with their design-a-watch feature but didn't come up with something I liked as much as Karin's. the women's bands aren't as wide as the men's, but I can't tell if the men's can be fastened small enough to fit my wrist. and I don't know why but I just don't like any of the faces that are available with the design-a-watch thing. *too picky* I only really like Karin's watch!

if you can't find anything, i have a friend who does some really cool custom leather stuff. I don't think he charges that much either..

This website has some neat leather bands if you have found a face that you like.
Edited to add...check out the beautious belts and barrettes and such, too.

thanks Trudes and Rachel for the suggestions! and thanks Bill for the photos! the more I look at Karin's watch the more I think that she didn't just go into a store and buy it; there's a story behind it. it just looks special like that. I like the idea of a custom watch so the search is on for a face! (tee hee, that sounds amusing.)
I actually came across the oldschoolleather site while trying to find out if there is a term for that style of watch band. got distracted looking around at all the pretties and ordered a plain wristband. =) I still don't know if that style of watch band has a name.

Funny that this should come up. I've seen watches just like that in airport convenience stores lately. They run about fifteen bucks. My wife and I had been surprised to find a bunch of those creative, funky, wide-band watches at the Seattle airport, and then at an OtR concert a couple of nights later, we laughed when we noticed that Karin was wearing one of those watches. So I'm guessing she got it at an airport while traveling...

Karin's had that watch for more than three years easily. I know because it's what made me buy my wide band leather watch back in 2004 IIRC. And try as I might, I couldn't find one as cool as hers either, and I figured it out later. It's Karin that makes the watch cool. It's not that cool on its own.
