So, the Orchard Chat option has been available for a little while now (soon, I'll remove the announcement from the top of each-and-every page!). I am curious -- how much is it being used, and what do you all think of it?

The chatroom itself works swell, and I love that only registered members can log in! Doesn't seem to me that people are chatting any more than before it became part of the orchard, however (I've been extremely busy the past month or so and I haven't been in there much myself). The list of chat users on the main orchard page doesn't appear to work if you have the chatroom open in a separate browser window, which is pretty much a necessity IMO.

And for the love of God, please remove that bulletin message!

I didn't get to chat very frequently when the chat was hosted elsewhere, so I don't have a sense of the utilization patterns THEN as compared to NOW...

Yeah, the separate window thing is a pain, but I can understand the technical limitations behind it and, sadly, can do nothing to fix it.

Still, I am happy with the chat integration and hope we see it used more. K&L appear in there from time to time...

I turned off the global announcement today, oh boy.

I like it a lot. It has all the bells and whistles I like, including cool sounds I can use to annoy yojimbo. I wish I had more free time to spend there actually. Nice work, and thanks for adding it.
