20th Century Shows

We say thank you a lot. But we are on this gratitude kick.

First, we know the benefits of staying positive because we’ve all had our share of negativity at some point in our lives, our careers, our relationships. Some of us, maybe more than others… And once you begin to break the grip of negative energy, you more readily recognize it and then work extremely hard to avoid it, to stay out of its path and to keep it out of your heart and mind and mouth.

Not easy, but well worth the effort.

Second, we are learning to verbalize it – to verbalize Gratitude. Not just think it or casually mention a great sold out show or a great sounding stage over coffee the next morning, but to speak it out loud and direct that energy back to the people that have been so supportive of us for so damn long.

So…

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I could take time to tell you how a show felt for us, compare audiences, scrutinize my performances (because God knows, no one has ever been more critical of me than me). I could critique sound companies, equipment, changes in the weather, blah, blah, blah. That’s kind of what I thought this tour diary would be about in part. But who cares?

I’m going to keep taking pictures and mini-movies as time allows. I’ll try to document all out silliness with a little help from my friends. We’ll share our conversations and thoughts about real life events that hit us between the eyes as we’re crossing the country, and mostly try very hard to remember

not to forget

to say

thank you.

Maybe we’ll even get Linford to chime in soon. But you know, he’s not your short story kind of guy. We’re talking novels here.

I’ll keep working on him.

More soon
With Gratitude,

Karin

PS See you in Ann Arbor and Akron.
