Most of the pics I have came out blurry--but here are some of the better ones I have from the Friday night show:

I figure the reason I had such blurriness--I really had to push the settings on the camera to their max because as I say in my post below--the theater did present some major challenges to shooting good, crisp, clear pics----
Jeanne
Bill can verify this: the lighting was pretty bad...

I'll add a few from Friday night:

The full album (all 4 pages of it) is here.

Thanks Michael and Jeanne. These are wonderful.
Jeanne, I absolutely LOVE how you take those shots where the frames are consecutive. It's surreal. I especially liked 67 and 68 that way. Lots more...too many frames to list.
The Orchard certainly has it's share of very talented photographic artists.

Thanks, Trudes. I do shoot a lot of concert pictures using the "burst" mode on the camera where I can hold the button down and let it take several consecutive shots. It's handy because the camera doesn't stop to refocus between shots and thereby eliminates part of the "shutter lag" problem that plagues my camera in single frame mode.

The Saturday shots I hope to get up tomorrow. Must get sleep now... laugh.gif

Thanks Mike and Jeanne! Jeanne, I agree many of your shots are just astonishing!

Glad that everyone liked the pics--Jeanne has some great ones. I was just using my almost dead, ancient Sony Cyber Shot point and shoot--but I have a really nice camera on order---even if I had gotten it by this show--I don't know if I would have gotten it in time that I would figured out how to use it effectively.

I don't know even if I had the thing and was proficient in its use that it would have made much difference--the theater presented some hard challenges to taking good photos--eveyone who was taking pics said the same thing----great job Jeanne!!!

I basically bagged taking pics on Saturday night---I was feeling pretty crappy anyhow--I had a tooth crack the other day and am suffering with it till I get to the dentist this coming week----it is hard to try to chew on one side of your mouth!!!!!

OtR is scheduled to be one of a number of groups performing on June 9 at The Southgate House in Newport at the annual "Rivertown Breakdown" concert.

I am going to be there to interview members of some of the groups performing at the show and will by then-have gotten my new camera figured out. Hopefully---The Southgate House will be more picture friendly and with the camera I am getting--I can be 500 yards away from the stage and see if Karin is "beading" as a few of my former southern belle girlfriends used to say---and not have to rely on flash.

I will take pics of them performing at Southgate ---after that---I won't most likely see OtR perform anymore this year till Canal Street again come next fall/winter....

I think that everyone who attended Saturday night's show had a good time--the place was really packed--they did incredible versions of "Ohio" and "Orphan Girl"--it was amazing how differently they did each of those songs each night---

Once again--in my humble opinion--another great set of performances by OtR!!!!!

This was only my fifth and sixth times seeing OtR--all since Tall Stacks last fall--I have hardly seen anygroup in live performance this many times--I think I have seen Jimmy Buffett more times than this and not by much and that is since 1975!!!So--I guess I've got the OtR bug bad!!! biggrin.gif

Great photos, Jeanne.
But not one of YOU.

There really are some....quite a few dandies there.....I didn't count them, though...there are dozens & dozens. Are you able to enjoy the shows ? It seems as though you'd have to be constantly shooting to wind up with that many. Thanks so much for sharing 'em, Jeanne

Thanks, Brian. I do enjoy the shows, and I enjoy photography as well. As I told Trudes earlier, I tend to put the camera in "burst" mode and shoot little batches at a time. It works for me, and if the time ever comes when it doesn't, I'll take fewer & fewer pictures, I'm sure.

Seriously? Sweet! (And funny, since we were talking about the Southgate House at Arthur's Saturday night!)

I'm up to 4 now, and will be traveling to Akron next weekend. smile.gif
Yeah, I've got it bad, too.

Great pics, guys! I got a few before the Friday show, mostly of our posse - however I'm having trouble uploading them so it may be a day or so before I can get them up. I didn't even try *during* the shows...the first night I was too busy herding cats (said posse), and the second night...well...I was just too busy enjoying NOT herding cats. LOL I have some great ones of Ellery from the previous weekend at Sawyer Point...but outdoor sunshine makes it easy. smile.gif If anyone wants to see them, I can put them up (though they're off-topic). Once I get the darn thing working again (blasted beastie).

Woo Hoo. Great shots.
There's Jeanne!
I reiterate...artistic talent is truly abundant in the Orchard.
Thanks.
