What is the deal with the live chat room on here--I go to places all over the net to chat rooms and at nearly anytime you go to them--there are people in the room chatting--why is it that now that K & L and the crew have provided a live chat room--it rarely seems to be used????

I would have thought it would be a well used resource and not simply to talk of things OtR but just general stuff--and would have brought more traffic to the site generally--many times when I log on to see what's up--there are three or four members and the rest are "guests"

I was just wondering what the thoughts were on that???

Well, for one... folks don't chat during the day, most of the time. I'm sure we've discussed this before. And more specifically... it's spring-time, and it's beautiful outside. The chats are rarely planned and never structured... just go with the flo, man. Not trying to be mean or anything, btw.

yeah mike, when it happens, it seems that it usually kicks in after 9:00 PMish, or when someome "calls" it (as in "chat bitches") they are usually non-OtR related and pretty wide ranging conversations. i believe the "guests" you mentioned are members that choose in their profile to be anon and/or non-members. but, i'm with you, i thought it would be used more than it has been to date.

keep your eyes open and/or call a chat when you are in the mood (and stick around for at least 15-20 minutes), hopefully some people will pop in.

Btw, the thread title - Chat, ya'll - is an implied imperative (like a Jedi mind trick). It's a contraction for "Chat, ya will."

Implied imperative? Your jedi mind tricks won't work on me, young Skywalker. Y'all is a slang second person plural pronoun-- a contraction of "you all".

Ya'll is just a simple grammatical typo. On the plus side, your explanation would make it sound a little bit more like Yoda-speak; "Hmmm, Chat you will. Good conversations you will have."
