I'm so ashamed.
Yes, I've lived in Cincinnati all my life.
Over-The-Rhine (as in, the neighborhood) is practically my back yard.
And it took someone in *Kent* (blows a kiss at D.M.) to introduce me to Over The Rhine, the music.
(Well...okay, lets try innundate me..."introduce" is jes a little too mild a word.)
So, since I intend to stick around (because I'm very *happy* having been assimilated), I figured I should introduce myself.
I'll try not to overwhelm you.
I'm....um....well....gee....
Different?
No, I won't bore you with all the labels. Frankly, in my life, I think labels are for sissies anyway (particularly since with me they have this habit of changing anyway).
I work 3rd shift in the Command Center of "the only bank you'll ever need" (oh...wait...we just changed our motto didn't we? Gods...what was that again? The Teletubby Bank? Oh...wasn't supposed to say that out loud...sorry.)
I'm a mom - I have 3 red-headed teenagers (that those going to the Friday show at the 20th Century at the end of the month will get to meet - I have this habit of "spreading the love"...D.M. and I are taking bets if our posse will outnumber the apples that night.) LOL I'm also stepmom/heartmom to 4 youngers. So yeah, I do the "mom-thing" a lot.
I'm a doula (when I can break away from the "day job"...what a misnomer THAT is). Maybe someday I'll eventually get that nursing degree and go for midwifery. That's my dream, anyway.
My music tastes are...eclectic. The teenagers tend to borrow *my* CDs.
My reading tastes are eclectic, too. And expanding all the time (glances towards D.M. again). I'm currently buried in Spider Robinson books...with occasional breaks for Laurell K. Hamilton and Sherrily Kenyon. But I've also been known to read baby-name books cover to cover. And if you find anything on horses, Ancient Rome, or childbirth...share?
Okay...the sprogs are calling - time to put on the Mommy Hat.
See you at the 20th Century (and the Lime Spider the following week - an excuse to be near Kent? Oh I'm SO there...)
Eu
