From a recent conversation about this with Keith on the Junkies board....
QUOTE
Hey Keith, looking forward to meeting you. I agree; the Ram's-head menu is OK but nothing special. The beer is better
When I saw OtR this past December, we ate at a small Thai restaurant about 5-10 blocks down from the Rams-head. I thought it was great Thai, at decent prices. This would be an option, if you like Thai and would want to meet up for dinner. I am at a loss to recall the name, unfortunately, but could easily find it. It is on the same street as Rams-head, AWAY from the downtown area. Annapolis seems to have no shortage of restaurants, but it seems to me most are on the pricey ($$$) side.
I plan to arrive mid-afternoon, walk around a bit and take in the locale. I can give a better ETA closer to the date.
Some thoughts anyway....
Dont know if we can check out sound-check, or if ya'll would want to try anyway (?).

Shang, the only Annapolis Thai restaurant I can find in the online Yellow Pages is
Carlson's Donuts & Thai Kitchen
at 1022 West St, Annapolis, MD. Is that it?
I think we should all convene for dinner around 6:00 there or somewhere else close to the venue.

I came up with 2 in addition to the donut store
http://local.yahoo.com/MD/Annapolis/Food+D...hai+RestaurantsScratch that, one is a Chinese place. Mr. Wang's looks promising food wise, though it doesn't have much ambience wise.

I do believe this is the place.....
LemongrassI will definitely be in Annapolis by 6:00, so this time works. We could also plan to meet outside the Ramshead and walk down if this makes things easier?
Anybody planning on flowers? I'd be willing to chip in.
Cheers.

Yeah, it was a pretty safe bet Karin will get flowers with Bill and myself in attendance! If anyone else wants to chip in, just speak up.
Lemongrass sounds great to me, who else is in for dinner? Jim? Kelly and friend? Carolyn, are you going to be able to come?

i'm in. it'll probably just be me, but i'll check on my friend and her friend, who are also coming.

i have a dentist's appointment at 3:30 on that day, and then i'm heading right over to annapolis, which means i'll get there early. when will everyone else be rolling in?

Barring unforseen circumstances, I plan to arrive mid-late afternoon and walk around a bit. Likely arrive around 3:00-4:00. Take a stroll down by the water, etc.
Count in me on the flowers....whatever the plan might be.

sorry if i wasn't clear in my post, all that i meant was that i was going to buy karin flowers like i always do. i'm going to be riding down from NYC with keith & michelle, i don't really have any way to arrange and/or put together a "flower conspiracy" kind of thing for this show. i wish i did. i think it's probably better if everybody does their own thing regarding flowers.
i'll probably just pick some up in the city before we head out.
sorry for any confusion.

There won't be room in the car, my friend (Chris is riding down with us too). We'll get a nice arrangement at the same Annapolis florist where JRay and I got flowers for Margo a few months ago, and whomever would like to chip in can sign the card.
Not to worry Bill, your name will be first.

I'm in - how's 6PM? If it's a popular place and since it's a Friday night, it might be a good idea to see if they take reservations. Not sure how big a place it is. There are 2 Lemongrasses according to a websearch; I'm guessing that it's the Lemongrass on West Street since it's closer to the venue.

Anyone else able to meet earlier? If so, might suggest we (I can be there 5:00 onwards) get a table or two. The late comers can join us as soon as they can. As long as we dont hold seating up too long I dont think it would be a big deal. Might be a bit of a wait at 5:00 anyway....
Thoughts?

For the interested here at the orchard, I'll request Bill post the set-list since he grabbed one. For me, the highllights were:
1- Mickey Grimm
2- The "Firefly" and "Ohio" back-to-back extended jams
