I am new to this site and a relatively new fan of OTR--I am sorry that it took me so long to "join the party."
I did purchase a copy of "OHIO" not long after it was released--I had heard the song played on WYSO-FM here in the Dayton area.
The song was one of those that really grabbed me from the first moment it started---I had heard of OTR before this but for some reason had never took a listen to the music---I bought OHIO based on the title cut and gradually came to love everything on the album.
I had not seen OTR in a live performance prior to this fall when OTR played at Tall Stacks--if I had liked the group before that--I instantly loved them---
Thankfully I had the chance to hear Karin, Linford and company play again at the second night of their two-night stand at Canal Street Tavern here in Dayton in November.
I am now a confirmed OTR fan and have started buying not only their most recent releases, but am going back into the early releases---as I said--I am rather late in "discovering" OTR's music---I wished I had done so long ago--but Oh, well!!!
It is interesting to see how the music has grown, changed and developed over the years.
I think it is great that Karin and Linford continued to call the Cincinnati area home once they attained a degree of critical and financial success (they could make a living by making music fulltime).
I had wanted to make it down to the get together at St. Elizabeth's but found I had other committments--perhaps next year---
I hope everyone will have a good holiday season as well as a productive new year---

Thanks for all the kind and warm welcomes from all who posted.
While checking out the racks of CDs at my local library yesterday--I came across the IRS Records version of "Till We Have Faces." You can hear the kernels of the DNA of all of the music made by OTR throughout their existence in that early release, but it is also interesting to hear how much the music has changed from those earlier days of the group----
I am going to continue my look back into "OTR-The Early Days"--it is proving to be an interesting experience.
