Is it worth seeing? It looks cool, but I was just curious.

It's good. Rather clever, interesting, well acted, a little mushy but not excessively (good mushy if you like that sort of thing:)
Not Shakespeare. There's a great bit about flowers.
Great date movie.

I watched this last night too.
I liked it. I especially liked Emma Thompson.
It was not the usual Wil Farrell role for him. He did pretty well.
Maggie Guillenhall (sp?) was great, too as was Dustin Hoffman, Queen Latifa and Tony Hale (arrested developement).

yay for stranger than fiction!
i just watched this last night as well (funny, keith and trudes...we all had the same idea!), and i really enjoyed it. i thought it was imaginative without being pompous, and it was funny without being dumb. i really liked how the audience wasn't given everything...some movies, the directors almost seem like they feel the audience needs to be spoon fed.
they didn't explain the jokes or the puns...they just let them be.
i loved will ferrel. i thought he did a superb job.

Saw this yesterday morning at loved it.
Everything about it was absolutely enjoyable.
Like Trudy I especially liked Emma Thompson, but I think Will Ferrell did beyond pretty well.
****SPOILERS****
I loved, loved, loved the part were Emma T. goes to see Dustin H. and how she explained changing the ending. Everything about the kind of man he was and "how do you kill that kind of man?", something like that...
I also loved Maggie G.'s story about how she became a baker and the "It was a really awful day. I know, I made sure of it." stuff.
Oh dude, and David H.!?! "You're never too old for Spacecamp". *snort*
And I thought Emma T's daydreams/death scenarios were awesome.
"You'll be all right. You'll just have a shard of wristwatch embedded in your arm for the rest of your life."
Heh.

Me and Lauren watched this the other night...excellent flick.

Very surprising performance from Will Ferrell. Not that I didn't doubt he was talented, but his movies are usually so over the top that I was really impressed with how subtle his performance was. Great script, amazing cast...why can't they make more movies like this instead of "the Fantastic Four Do Dallas."

We are really not Will Ferrell fans based on the movies he's made up to this point, but this film really raised my opinion of his talent, tremendously. Being big fans of Emma Thompson and Maggie Gyllenhaal (with Dustin Hoffman, too!), we really enjoyed this film. Finally, it had the best script we've seen in a movie since Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (which changed our minds about Jim Carey, too). In fact, I thought perhaps this had been written by Charlie Kaufman too, but it was written by a guy named Zach Helm. Very clever storyline. Highly recommended!

I've worked on a couple of Christian films (which generally aren't very good). Stranger Than Fiction got everything right that those movies got wrong. It is a wonderful example of how faith and theology can be communicated clearly and creatively without the need for religious language. Great film! I get something new every time I watch it.
