Well, I'm planning on being one of you for the long haul, so I thought I'd introduce myself a bit. My name is Liza, and I currently live in Indianapolis. I'd be hard pressed to determine if I love words or sound more, so I hope I never go blind or deaf. I've had a love affair with Over The Rhine since my freshman year of high school, 10ish years ago; I've seen my harder years since then and have been priveleged to have their music as the soundtrack behind my character-defining seasons. I also really enjoy Patty Griffin, Sufjan Stevens, meese (from Denver, czech these guys out before they get huge), pre-Madrigals E.P. Howie Day, Kris Delmhorst, and so many others I'll just leave it there. Favorite authors include Anne Lamott, David Sedaris, Madeleine L'Engle, J. R. R. Tolkien, Seamus Heaney, and once again this list could get away from me if I'm not careful.
I have a degree in Lit with minors in Bible and Theatre. I spent 14 months (starting Jan. '05) in Colorado earning my Massage Therapy certification. I miss the west.
Hmm... any other pertinent details? I'm a nonfiction lead bookseller at Barnes and Noble. I write a lot, both words and sounds. I have a couple of myspace profiles (one for my music and one for well... just me) and a blog on blogspot, too- those links are all down in my signature.
Guess that's it for now. Thanks again for your kindness- I'm looking forward to seeing ya'll at the Buskirk Chumley tomorrow night, and again at the Taft. (you can usually find me pretty easily... look for the hair)
