This guy is a pretty avid fan, yet he doesn't feel compelled to join in with us in the Orchard...

Hmmm wonder why?

That doesn't really make sense to me. It makes going to shows even more fun to catch up with people. The community of this whole thing seems to be an important and unique thing. But I guess it is not for everyone.

I don't see what's to wonder about. His 6/9/06 post, paragraph two, is pretty black&white about it. Actually, the forum member idea of "how could someone not want to be involved in the forum?" is more confusing to me than the desire to watch(read) from the sidelines. Like Kevin said, it's not for everyone.

Honestly, if I were in a geographical position to where OtR played in my neighborhood there'd be times I'd be more than content to go alone, experience the show by myself and go home after. Not because I don't dig [most of] you, but doing O.T.R. solo occasionally just sounds, divinely intoxicating.

And that's exactly how I did it pretty much for my first ten years. Everything changed with that weekend in May 2004. And apparently he already has one forum. That's all some people need (or want).

Actually, I've got two ... one that I didn't really mean to end up administrating. wink.gif

But yes, the one I talk about a lot of the time is something that's a big part of my life, certainly as much as this place is for y'all. And yeah, I can't really give up that kind of time, y'know?

But I have friends who have been active here at times.

And DustyVolume ... thanks for reading. smile.gif

GFM <-- has a couple boots from back in June ready to share when the new album comes out.

Heh, don't mention it, GFM. It's good to know there are fans out there that I haven't met yet. Endless possibilities. smile.gif

:chuckle: Well, if you ever get down to Nashville ...

GFM <-- might make it to the Taft one of these Decembers if he's not delivering more flight hardware to NASA.

Seriously, I'm going in February of next year to check out the travelling show that Karin sings the role of Eve in. Have you heard of it?

I have a link somewhere...

I used to go by myself a lot in the early days. It was nice to just be able to see the show, be engulfed in the music, and then just drive home still feeling a sense of calmness and solitude. Sometimes that a very good feeling. rolleyes.gif

Hey GF,

Do you live in Madison, AL? I saw on your page that you are associated with Madison UMC. I just moved from Madison to Harvest.

Yo, GFM!

We are the AL folks waiting at the door of Exit/In when you walked up behind us, in June.
