Oh yes, there is a novel (Bantam Books) based on the motion picture written by Tom Schulman. The author of the novel is N.H. Kleinbaum (a former woman reporter), the same author who wrote D.A.R.Y.L.

Ahhhh, kinda like the "Snakes On A Plane" book. I thought you meant the book inspired the movie rather than the other way around.

Generally it IS the other way around, but I assure you the reading the book is exactly like watching the movie!!
