Company purchased Friday, so there was a bit "welcome to the new digs" thing at work... with beer.
I worked today, and there was beer left. I sit here, 15 minz or so left, drinking a beer. Life is good.

Sorry to interupt your dialogue, guys . . .
One of my favorite things is clear cool air that shows the color of the stars and that frequently fills the nights at this time of year here. It's late, and the winter constellations are out!
Carry on!

In
Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind...one of the sketches used "Changes Come." I'm not kidding...I was freaking out during the show.

Of course, the contrast between the skit (in part a parody of Meredith Baxter & Lifetime movies) and the seriousness of the song was amusing, but I think I'm the only one who got that. But it was really cool nonetheless. I was going to ask someone in the cast about OTR, just out of curiosity, but didn't get a chance. Maybe next time.
(if you're in the Chicago area, you have to see this, it's different than any other kind of theater i've ever seen, but in a good way)

I love my new winter coat for a very simple reason: pockets. It has many, many pockets of varying shapes and sizes on the inside and outside of both major layers. Some of them are quite large, with zippers. Others are a bit smaller, with snaps or Velcro. It's the kind of coat in which you can easily lose and find things. Already I've made th discovery of half of a two-hour-old bagel. I can't wait until I start finding money.

Oh, and I love that the guy at the bulk specialty foods store let me taste the items I didn't recognize. Mmmm.

Amen to this. Friday night was remarkably clear, and I saw the Pleiades for the first time in months. Same with Cassiopeia's Chair and Orion. I love Orion! I actually waved at him, I was so excited to see him back in the sky.

Having a girl who I think I've secretly been in love with for over a year tell me that I "should be a model or something." Yeah, it's not the deepest compliment, but still... She also apologized for not driving down to meet me in New York when I was there over a year ago. I know it'll never work out... but it makes me really happy right now anyway.

My goddamned f***ing paper FINALLY being done, steaming pile of low-level shit that it is. Even a failing grade has to be better than a zero.
Having enough time to do kinda sorta okay on my midterm (I think), despite missing a third of the exam session.
Listening to
Imperfection really loudly.
Sisters who will let me borrow their CDs.
Getting an email from my quasi-sister's husband (yay!).
Having an uninterrupted half-hour in which to change out of my work clothes and play guitar. (My precious! How I've missed you!!)
Sunshine.
I am really digging having found my contact lenses. They're the right prescription! And not bent out of shape, or scratched up, or spattered with paint flecks!
The "delete" key for digressions.
Only having taken twenty minutes to make this list. (Trust me, that's more relevant-words-per-minute than I've been able to write all night/morning.)

awww... I haven't been studying in the library lately and the ole' library crew has been asking around to see just what I've been doing...so I decided to appease the masses and study at my old table today...and I just received an IM from one of the 'crew' in which he said, "the library feels so much more
comforting when you're here." Now, while I must say that this compliment can be listed among the weirder ones that I've gotten....it
does warm my heart...
