Cold oatmeal mixed with soggy bran flakes with milk. (Yes, this IS a FAVORITE thing, when done juuuuust right.)

The house has been reclaimed by Paula and Layla. I am no longer responsible for the dogs, cats, fish, garden, laundry etc.. It has been two weeks of driving to work so I can take care of all the errands and rush home to take care of the animals. ...A loathsome circumstance.

This morning the commute consisted of pedaling a bicycle twenty miles along the river, through the city, across the airbase and up the hill to the university. This is definitely my favorite thing.

The river bottoms were blanketed with a thin layer of low fog. The thick mist hugs the green and gold meadow grass with black eyed susans, sun drops and purple cone flowers extending out of the soft viscous blanket. On the river, Herrons stand with their bodies pushing up from the mist. When the sun broke the horizon, for a few beautiful moments, the milky vapor became pure gold.
