I love how because the sun is behind me on my morning drive to school, I usually get to see a rainbow....and how the sun is again behind me on my afternoon (if I'm lucky enough to get out of here by then) drive home, I usually get to see a rainbow again...really...what a great start/end to a day!

A good night's sleep, waking up to find that the day has been born anew.

Over cast, somewhat rainy days after way to many hot, hot days.

this is a little bit bigger than just "favorite things" but i wanted to share with you all some good things happening in my life right now!

- i am picking up the longlost boyfriend this weekend. we are spending a few days in chicago with his sister (who lives there) and his mom (who'll be visiting). not ideal time spent with the man i haven't seen on a daily basis in two months, but it is how it all worked out. oh, and it's his birthday. the big 2-5! he can finally rent a car without me!

- i just found out that in the fall i will most likely continue working where i'm currently working. it's sweeet.

- i am meeting with a women's studies professor tomorrow to talk about my interest in the intersection between public health and the humanities. does this mean a phd is in my future? i'm not sure, but it's exciting to think about.

- [jp/p]'s kittens brighten up my day whenever i see the photos. but i haven't clicked on his name in awhile, so maybe i should go do that...

People that will listen to you prattle when you're ranting too much,
who are honest in their feelings and with their intentions,
who tell you directly but fairly that they have questions to which you have no answers,
and who will embrace a good chance for friendship before taking the risk of forcing an awkward silence.
