Pics of Libby and Libby's sister!

Winnie let me sleep in until 10:30 this morning! (Sort of -- I took a nap on the couch as soon as she'd had breakfast. But she didn't insist I get up and play!)

Uh ... not for a while.

I'm so proud of this dog. Her good behavior stands in stark contrast to that of the rude little kid last night.

I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing. I just bought the complete series of Cowboy Bebop on DVD for $18 (including shipping). The bad news is... it's not in English. But there are subtitles.

the fact that when anyone hangs out with such people we say things like "ooooo, hanging with the woo-dees." "Do I get to be a woo-de now?"

Aww, thanks Scott.

B, it's a good thing... though the subtitles are never the same as what the English translation would have been. I tried using them to fill in the gaps when my speakers were a little off. The spoken translation was often quite different from the subtitled words. Anything Cowboy Bebop is good, though! Almost anything!

Happy things:
long conversations with my best friend
getting to drive
swimming in the river (in my underwear)
time with my family
SO MUCH JUNK FOOD!

The subtitles are the best translation from the Japanese. The spoken English version is altered a bit to match up more precisely with the characters' mouth movements (which isn't as bad as it sounds--they do a really good job with it).

And I love that she's equally kooky -- no toning her town or turning her up for either audience. Her little "circles are pretty" song in the movie cracks me up every time.

Ed in the movie is the reason why I didn't like Cowboy Bebop for at least six months. That song -- that song! -- would not leave my head! I guess that means I would have cracked you up for an extended period of time.

Favorite thing: mocking incomprehensible live-action Japanese movies with my siblings.

They cut it from the movie, but in the soundtrack, Ed goes on to sing pi out to about 40 decimal places. That's why I know pi out to 12 decimal places--memorizing the lyrics to that song, slowly but surely. 3.141592653589...

I have added the makers of Vioxx to my personal pantheon of minor deities. Chocolate is yummy. Knowing EXACTLY where to set my feet when running along a pitch-black street just because I've run along it a thousand times before thrills me. Sunrise, sunshine, sunset, being able to see the stars (one downside to city life is light pollution)... all of these make me happy. Huge bags of Jelly Belly at Club Price, sharing label space with the words "Kirkland Signature," make me giggle. And that riddle thingy Brandon posted in that other thread made me smile a great big smile. You guys are sweeties.
