Doing so.
This evening, I will prepare it for the first time from my re-created recipe. I'll let everyone know how it goes!

It's got all the requirements... Sugar, eggs, butter, flour, rum, and puff pastry... The product will definately be good!
The question is if the
recipe is good yet or not. I know
I can follow it, but I want to make sure the recipe is complete enough for non-cooks to make as well.
The dessert is a cake called a
Diplomat Cake, and it's layers of puff pastry, layers of sponge cake soaked in rum, and rum buttercream. A colleague of mine brought me a little, tiny slice from a bakery in Canada (which, apparently, is the best place to get it!). It practically screams for fresh strawberries to go with it.
Once the recipe passes my muster, I will certainly post it! Thanks for your interest and encouragement.

There are times when I'm just about to sink my teeth so far into work that I find myself getting emotionally involved... over the last few years, I've been able to step back from that and completely discount whatever I thought I was about to gain by doing so.
That ability is one of my favorite things now.

Well, pabst is kind of a hipster Portland. Sure, it's cheap and more like beer flavored water, but still, it could be worst. It could be budweiser.

If by "score" you mean "spoon," than yes.
Well, that was nice. Makes being single a little less ... cold.

If this happens much more frequently, though, we might all have to move to Utah.

Forget it! Utah only allows that sort of thing if you marry your half sister(s). Your children must have spastic red hair, hugely freckled skin and badly crossed eyes with coke bottle end glasses. I know this firsthand. They went to high school with me.
Try Montana. Nobody cares what you do there. It's even legal to crack a cold one for the drive home after work. You can wave to the cops with your open bottle. Gavin is looking for room mates at Big Sky when he returns from Canada (or wherever he is). You could set up your weirdly questionable household and all you would have to do is watch over his snowboard and ski's because he is always wandering around the wilderness looking for the grizzly bear that wants to eat him.
