* Thinking Deb's cool factor just went up a few more notches! *

: )

My Chucks were black high-tops ... and when I was in junior high, I had a pair of purple low-top Chucks (school colors) ... anyhoo, when I was in college, my best pal had a pair of red high-tops, and we used to swap a shoe each and go out, both with one red and one black shoe.

(Checkers, anyone?)

* Thinking my nerd factor just went THROUGH THE ROOF ... but not minding at all! *

I wanted lavender chucks, but I never was able to find any at the same time that I had money to pay for them. And in truth I never looked that hard. But today I got these adorable lavender semi-dressy shoes for $15. A steal and living a dream. It doesn't get much better.

Lynne: was it the 80s when you did the opposite shoes thing? Wasn't that cool then?

Why, yes, it WAS the '80s ... however, I'm sure if I was doing it, then it must have been popular AT LEAST a year or two before (I'm always several steps behind when it comes to trends and coolness and what-not).

I am a full two ***YEARS*** older than you...but that is irrelevant. I've called my best female-friend Melissa "kiddo" since I've known here...and she's a year older than I. It's just a term of brotherly affection.

I think my friend Nate started saying "kiddo" when we were in Indo., and I picked up on it for some reason. I've never really noticed it until now.

But if you prefer, I can call you " ma'am " from now on.

I never drive during the semester and I think completing my 45 min (each way) commute alone a few days ago was a favorite thing. And my parents getting a new car and letting me buy the old one with no money down, that too.
I'm sure you rock driving.
