It was just before sunrise and these sci-fi looking clouds rolled over my neighborhood a couple weeks ago. I never thought the camera would capture it as I was seeing it with the naked eye. The pictures still amaze me when I see them. I've had people ask me if they are real. They are real with no touch up.

Those pics of the clouds are awesome--that would have been a great sky to have caught on film or memory stick.
The only thing with that sky--it sorta reminds me of the scene of the weird storms in the newest version of "War of the Worlds" where the aliens zip down the lightening into the ground and into their attack vessels!! LOL

Sorry about the double post again--it sometimes happens that when you hit the submit button--at least for me--the screen hiccups and you think that your post went away---I had hit the button again and it did post up----obviously it posted twice----
Since I am posting this mea culpa--congrats KJ on the pic being used---it is a great photo.
PS--Jeez--I came back again and noticed that the last post was put up not twice, but three times---Sorry--and all I have to say about that is Holy Crap!!!!

Yesterday I was taking photos around Dayton----kind of funny--I have photos of many other places but hardly any of my own hometown---I figured it was time that I did take some!
In my bushwhacking around town---I spent some time at Riverscape--a MetroPark located along the Great Miami River in downtown Dayton---I found these scenes----sort of like Kylie's photos last year of the kids at pool.
The kids just love this water fountain feature---it has water jets that do all sorts of random patterns.

Ohhh to be young and have so much energy and exhuberance again!!! LOL

I add this water feature--I think with the nice blue sky in the background it is kind of cool:

Steve - nice stuff in Singapore! How was the trip in general?
Thank you, sir. The trip was good, as every visit I've made to Singapore has been. The other trip I referenced in my last post in this thread (the month-long trek around India and Nepal) was actually even better though. Unfortunately, I've been so busy since returning that I've only been able to look at a fraction of the pics that I took.

thanks, Trudes.

I like the technique too. it makes photos seem more romantic, I think. some of the colors are more intense, yet there's a fuzziness going on. (hmm, is that what I think "romantic" means--intensity of feeling but lack of clarity?)

Cher, when did you start writing all over your pictures?? It's weird!

I was at a rose garden thing on Sunday morning, and this one basically turned out really blurry. I don't have Photoshop or anything at home, just iPhoto on the mac, and so I basically reduced noise on this and heightened the colors just a tiny bit. I love it though:

Here are a few from today:
The Lord said to Noah, "There's gonna be a floody, floody!"
This is in Lawrenceville, IL (my hometown). The Embarass (pronounced Ambraw) River is well over its banks as you can see.
A levee broke on the IL side and flooded quite a bit of farmland. We haven't seen flooding like this in years!
As you can see, the water's not far from the CSX tracks and rushing out from under an overpass on 'new' 50.
Lawrenceville HS, IL (my hometown, but not my HS), football field.
This is the first time in my 51 years that this bridge has been closed. Old route 50 is closed between Vincennes & Lawrenceville, IL (my hometown), and is another first for me. I was told today that the last time it was closed due to flooding was back in '50.
Third St. in Lawrenceville, falls victim to the Embarras (Ambraw) River.
Another shot of the flooded prairie in IL.
Flooded farm in IL.
This is the main entrance to Kimmel Park which is only a few blocks from the VU campus. I take lots of photos from there. The river crested today and the water was about 2' from the top of the levee. Thanks for looking!
