I LOVE the first one Cher.

And the third one too, because on one side, it's pavement, and on the other, mulch.
In between is a lovely looking flower.
It just has good balance. :]

Thanks for looking and commenting!

Taken with my Oly SP-550UZ:

Carly's Eyes

It's an 18x optical zoom (wide angle), 7.2 mega pixel.

Really looking forward to getting out and about with this one!

I have a new camera. It's an Oly SP-550UZ. Anyway, I've not really had the time to play with it as much as I'd like. I hoping for some serious photog time this weekend. It has a lot of features that I already like or will like. One is in camera post processing.

I took the following photo:

Carly's Eyes

and did this:

Missing You

I'd love to make cards from this one, but I'll have to get Carly's approval since I'll be making money from her likeness. She'll probably want a percentage! laugh.gif

Thanks for looking!

i'm kind of proud of this, so i thought i would post it here. this year, karin & linford once again asked me if they could use two of my photographs from the taft show for "live from nowhere." these two pictures are featured on the inside of the booklet.

Korean Spice Viburnum
I wish you could smell these tiny, tiny florets. The scent is heavenly. Each flower is about the size of a pencil eraser, and each cluster is roughly the size of my palm. They don't last very long, but they are lovely while they do. The bumble bees love 'em.

the past few years at this time of year we've had birds pecking on our glass windows somewhere around the house. 2 years ago it was a pheasant rooster. he didn't want that other male that was reflecting back at him in his turf, and he would spend hours just pecking at the pane, walking back and forth. he actually wore quite a path next to the window. last year it was kamikaze robins, trying to make sure that other male was out of there. today while working at home i heard the familiar klunk and went to investigate. there at the back patio door was a wild tom turkey, pecking away. i watched him awhile and snapped a few photos, before the dog discovered him and tom took off running. it was pretty cool to see, i had never been that close to one, an rather ugly bird, but also a very, very beautiful bird. and this one was about waist high to me. enjoy!

BlondeDynamite
Cher- I love that piano shot.

Kent- That's so cool! He's huge!
Trudes
Kent, that is awesome. He's spectacular. What a beautiful face. I hope he doesn't end up on someone's table for dinner.
Cher, I love the piano. The colors in the shot are so rich and the shine on the keys adds a nice 'polish'. closedeyes.gif
GhostWriter
Hey Kent, that's awesome! Those things make a racket when they "fly". I've had a whole herd (flock, whatever) roost in trees near me while hunting. Startled me so badly I darn near fell out of my tree when I woke up! laugh.gif

Clumsiest birds in flight...... ever.

Thanks, Trudes, I was really trying for the reflection on the keys most of all. It's from one of these:

I ESPECIALLY LOVE this one.
I don't know why.
I think it's the lighting.
But, it's just beautiful.

Did you play around with like, long time exposure, or exposure compensation, or something, because this doesn't "just happen".

Nope - it's my new Oly (have had it about a week), and it was on Auto mode. I still love the color I get with the Kodak, but the Oly performs much, much better in low light situations than the Kodak.

Thanks again.

Thanks, Kent. Sad thing is that we have dipped into below freezing weather and lots of things are getting nipped. Anyway, spring's on the way we just have to be patient which is hard to do after high 70 degree temps and then a 30 degree drop in just a few hours. Brrrrrrr!

Thanks again!

This is somewhat a repeat. I really liked the reflection of the stained glass window in the original shot I took, so I tried a little different angle yesterday and got more of the window reflected on the keys. I think I like this one even better.

great photos everyone!
its hard to believe that less than a week ago we got 2 inches of snow,
and look what beauty showed up today.
a pasque flower

and also i have blooming forsythia, pussytoes, hepatica, and prairie smoke.
with all the bad happening in the world today, it sure is nice to come home and
enjoy the simple beauty of a flower.

i think its time to start this years flower thread cher!

Tonight was V-Fest 2007. It was a death metal show sponsored by the Campus Pagan Alliance. There were 4 bands that played from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. I took over 150 shots. Some were good, some not-so-good, but the OLY got a great workout, and it takes much better low light photos than the Kodak. If you'd like to view the whole night, click here.

Here's a couple I particularly like:
