How very haunting and sad.
I wonder what the circumstances were...the dates of death were so close.
Was there a grave stone for R.A. Thomas?
Your discovering these graves was an invitation to write the story, Cher.
Where are the graves?
BlondeDynamite
Wow, Cher. Of all graveyard pictures I have seen or taken, those stand out. It makes you wonder about katie and her baby, and her poor husband.
coldteablues
Thanks for looking and commenting, guys. I have yet to get Katie and her baby off my mind. I have begun writing about them and hope to write more this weekend. The graves are in Evansville, IN, and I hope to make another trip down there soon in order to check on the husband's stone which, I think, is the large one next to Katie's stone. I was so blown away by these 2 that I didn't think to look for his. There truly is a story here.

What's really interesting to me is that mom died shortly after giving birth. Then the baby died a few months later. Very strange. Also (file in the really weird section), I recently wrote a song called That Water Came. In it, I have a mother and baby who die in a a flood (cheery, I know). I wrote the mother's name as Mary, but have recently been singing it as Katie (my #3 is Mary and it's just too weird for me to sing that way).

Weird.

Looking forward to hearing more about this Cher.

You know, Kent, I really like this one. We're just getting rain, possibly severe thunderstorms/tornados later this afternoon. We haven't had any snow this winter, and I'd really love to see some.

Thanks for sharing!

Cher

Kent! Snow... ew!! smile.gif Nice picture, tho.

I need to get my ace out and take some photos. I'm bored with my camera... she doesn't turn me on anymore. I need more. smile.gif Heh.
...
Only pictures I've taken recently. And I honestly don't think much of them, so it's ok if you don't.

kent
here's a few more from today.
we'll end up with around a foot of snow or so.
march is definitely coming in like a lion.

ok sue, we need to get rid of that flag

countryside near the house

are you sure we're on the road?

still coming down
this was all plowed 3 hours before, so 3-4 inches in that time
kylie jo
geez, kent. no wonder you're getting so much snow... def. take the flag down. burn it.
...

the cat knocked over a jar of beads, so i thought it'd be a good opp to play with manual settings.

And me!

If you look toward the upper left corner of this one, you can just make out a lone bird. If I'd been a been quicker, I could have caught the flock as they crossed over the moon!

No eclipse visible here today. Too much cloud cover. sad.gif

Cher
beforesunrise
the eclipse was over by the time the moon rose here, but I took some photos of the yellow moon anyway. they're on my other camera though, which I don't have with me at the moment. so for now I have some flower pictures that I took earlier. springtime, anyone?

I get my best results using the manual settings on the camera. Automatic almost always overexposes the full moon with my camera.

I LOVE the first one Cher.

And the third one too, because on one side, it's pavement, and on the other, mulch.
In between is a lovely looking flower.
It just has good balance. :]

Let's see who can name this famous artist from the 60s, center (I'm betting Brian knocks this off before finishing his coffee):

Thanks for looking and commenting, Trudes. Looks like spring's here at least until this weekend. It's supposed to be in the high 70's all week and then back to the 50's this weekend.
