very nice ~ esp the wood floor, the softness of the walls in the second one together with the way the curtain looks with the color of light coming through the fabric ~

i like them all.
i think that's my favourite room in your house.

Yeah, well, that sucker wasn't exactly built for speed! I think they were going for "most creative". Still, every time I look at that guy's determined face, I crack up. The Sisters (should you capitalize 'sisters'?) at St Patricks retirement home almost won... because they recuited the local high school track team smile.gif But one of the sisters did have to be on the thing while they were pushing it. The "Nuns On The Run" came in second.

Ah, fun stuff in the mid-west. There were a couple good crashes, but no major injuries. Here's some local bankers:

Its festival and parade season. I'll be taking pictures of a strawberry festival on Saturday, then a women's triathalon Sunday morning, and the Pride Parade Sunday around noon. I just had my camera fixed... I hope it lasts through the weekend smile.gif

You have to stick the image on photobucket or some other site like that, and then use the "insert image" icon (it looks like a tree) at the top of the reply box. Every once and a while Drew pops in to remind us that having the images hosted somewhere other than the orchard is a good thing as it limits the memory our posts require.

I just love the farm when they cut the hay! All littered with big bales that you just have to climb on. I only like it better when it is covered with untouched snow.

Bill -

I keep coming back to these because they seem to strike a chord. Now I think I know why. You might want to check out this. Not really the same, but they do evoke the same emotion in me when I view them.

Sometimes it doesn't matter what genus or species we are. A look is a look no matter what.

Pensive

I love the way the evening sun washes the duck in gold on one side while the darkness of the shadow throws in the perfect contrast. It was horribly hot today, but I go once daily (usually in the evening) to sit and watch and commune with these gentle birds. They are so used to me now that I can get out among them without fear. They never fail to soothe me no matter what.

Thanks for looking!

not sure what i think about this one.

Kylie -

Was this taken late afternoon/early evening? What type of camera do you use? It looks a bit out of focus or noisty to me, but maybe that's the look you were going for. I know that the only thing I don't like about my Kodak DX7590 is the amount of noise under low light conditions. I did do the upgrade which seems to have helped, but I'm still not truly happy with evening, night, or indoor shots. From what I've read/learned it also seems to have something to do with the pop-up flash. It's still a good shot though. Evokes a feeling of loneliness.

Cher
coldteablues
Thanks, everyone, for your kind words about the duck photo.

Cher
kylie jo
Well, that's sorta what I was going for. I was downtown on Elm Street and when I looked down this little alley-way, and all of my surroundings I felt sad. And lonely b/c I was in their world.
Thanks for the tips, tho.

I think I took it in the afternoon sometime and I do have a pop-up flash.

Here's a series of new B&W's taken earlier today. All that was done to these was a bit of cropping and some fiddling with contrast and brightness.
